"Well, hello there. Welcome to Kora High! What is your name?! Introduce yourself!"
When the teacher uttered those words back then, I did not know what events were to come.
"Well. Let me start first!" She said with a forced smile. "My name is Mrs. Hall. Now. It's your turn to introduce yourself to me and your new classmates."
I wanted to make a good impression, so I decided that I would make a cheerful introduction. But, right as I was about to speak, someone drew attention to themselves.
"Hall honey, if she doesn't want to talk, she doesn't have too!"
When they said that, everyone started to laugh. I didn't really find the humor in what they said, but I laughed anyways.
"Angelo, it's a normal high school ritual for a new student to introduce themselves." Mrs. Hall said, trying her best not to get too angry.
"Sorry for the interruption, go ahead hon." She said after sighing deeply.
"Hello! My name is Rain Carter, nice to meet you all." I said, as cheerfully as I possibly could.
"Hi!" The class said back to me.
Their welcoming tones took me by surprise! I expected them to be more, you know, rude. Still, I can't judge their personalities just yet. Being fake is not hard at all.
