Chapter 12

Emily Rose

When Nik kissed me I was so shocked. I mean I was still mad at him and Im pretty sure it was noticable to him, but he kissed me anyway. I pushed him off of me and turned my head so he was kissing my cheek.

The look he gave me was one of hurt, but he hurt me plenty in the past, so I didnt really care. "Dont kiss me." I said and started walking away from him. Nik followed. I looked down at the promise ring that Nik gave me. It was so beautiful. The main stone in it was Aquamarine, which is my birthstone and around it was little tiny diamonds. I loved it, but I was still mad at Nik and I didnt want to take it. Nik had a lot to make up for.

I started walking looking down the beach at the lights that had started coming to life in the semi dark. I forgot that there was a carnival in town. I smiled already smelling the grease of the carnival food and the yelling of people going on the rides that were there. Nik walked next to me and grabbed my hand holding it in his, he looked at me expecting me to yank my hand away. I shrugged not looking at him and held his hand back. I could see the smile on his face out of the corner of my eye.

Thank god the carnival was free to the locals but everything else like the consessions and the rides cost money. Im glad I had brought some with me.

"What do you want to do first?" I heard Nik asked me.

I shrugged again and looked down at the promise ring again. "I cant take this....." I told him again with a frown.

"What? Dont you like it?" I could hear the disappointment in his voice and only then did I take a really good look at him.

I shook my head. "No, I think its beautiful, but I broke up with you and I dont want you spending things on me when we arent together." I said. That was when he stopped and looked at me.

"Emily Rose do you have any idea how much I love you? Even if we arent together Im always going to spend money on you so please keep it." Nik told me and held my hand that had the gorgeous promise ring.

I didnt say anything and started walking again with Nik still holding onto my hand.

Emily Rose was finally talking to me again. I swear my heart was jumping right out of my chest. I smiled to myself liking the feel of my han in Emily Rose's.

The promise ring I had gotten her I had help from a certain someone by the name of Torin. After school the day before when Emily Rose around I told Torin I was sorry and I really meant it. I could see in Torin's eyes that he had believed me and immediately went into a spew about how Emily Rose missed me and vowed to help me get her back.

That day when we got to Torin's house we immediately went to work creating situations and brain storming as to how to get her back. I know that sounds dumb, but it appeared to be working.

Lets just say after hours of bickering back and forth aruing over what we both thought was a good idea. We finally both agreed that I should take Emily Rose to the beach and give her a gorgeous promise ring.

With the help from Torin, we ended up going to mall and picking out the ring ourselves. Boy was the ring expensive, but I didnt care. I mean I loved Emily Rose right? I figured I might as well spend as much money on her I could.

The reason why I have so much money anyway is because at some point in my life before I met Emily Rose I used to be in the drug business industry and thats where I usually got my money. I looked down at my wallet as noticing the money in it dwindling fast. I needed a job a well paying job. "Looks like Im going to work at McDonalds." I thought.

I looked around at the carnival, smelling the greasy food and the screaming of little kids as they went on rides. I swear the smell of food made my mouth water.

"Lets go on the farris wheel." I hear Emily Rose say to me and I smile.

"Alright." I say and walk over in line. Honestly, the line wasnt that long and I easily paid for the $2.00 dollars that was needed to go on the ride. I let Emily Rose get in the seat before me and then I sat down next to her. The conductor of the ride got us situated before starting the ride. When our cart go up to the top I put my arm around Emily Rose's shoulders. I looked at her and she turned to look at me. "Im extremely sorry, about everything I said to you, about everything I said to Torin...." I stopped as Emily Rose opened her mouth to say something. "Wait, let me finish." I said cutting her off before she could say anything. "I said sorry to Torin in person and he forgave me and Im extremely sorry about kissing Lia and I take full responsibility for it." I appologized to her not looking away from her blue eyes.

Torin told me if I was supposed to appologize to Emily Rose I had to look her in the eye while I did it, which I usually dont do. Appologizing was something that was completely new to me, but when it came to Emily Rose I did it anyway.

Emily Rose looked at me and then cuddling into my chest as the cart started circling in a big circle. "Its ok." she said and smiled.

I smiled back and held her tighter liking the feel of her in my arms.

After we got off the ride it was dark outside. I mean we were at the beach all day and my shoulders started to itch as I realized I had sunburn on them. I groaned inwardly as I should have put suntan lotion on them but I always forgot.

"You ready to go home?" I whispered holding her hand.

She nodded once. "Yes." But she said it reluctantly.

We started walking to Emily Rose's house in silence.

When we get to my house Nik walked me up the step still holding my hand. When I turned around my back facing the door I looked at him.

"Good night Emily Rose." Nik whispered and kissed my hand with the promise ring looking into my eyes as he did so.

I blushed when he did and when he kissed me on the forehead. "Im sorry." He whispered again.

"Its ok." I whispered back.Nik then started to leave. "Nik?" I called after him.

Nik stopped and turned to look at me. "Yes?" He asked.

"Should I leave my window open?" I asked him looking at him biting my lip slightly waiting for his answer.

I all I can see in the dark is a huge grin on his face. "I would love that." He said and walked away again.

I went inside and closed and locked the door. When I got into my room I got my pajamas on, opened my window and got into bed waiting for Nik.

Im extremely sorry for taking forever to write this!!! I had an extremely bad case of writers block. With the help of my boyfriend Nik (yes thats his name and I know its the same name as the main character which I based the main character off) Thank you Nik so much for helping me with this chapter. I love so much :))

I hope you liked this chapter.

Anyway as a heads up I am writing another book called Almost Human thats on wattpad I hope you start reading that also even though I only have 2 chapters in it so far. Its a work in progress just like this book.

Another heads up with the help of my boyfriend Nik I might put up another story.... I dont know what Im going to call it yet, considering this isnt even my idea its Nik's, which he got from having a day dream. Yes, a day dream. I dont know when Im going to start that one, but be warned to look out for it.
