The second she walked into the room
he knew he was fucked. She was smiling, laughing looking better than ever and there he stood silently sulking.

Chris decided he wanted to throw a party while he was in NY, for just that reason and invited her, claiming he hadn't seen her in "years". Sebastian rolled his eyes at that.

It was like slow motion when she turned and caught his eyes, then all too quickly she whipped back around and walked in the other direction and Seb let out a loud groan.

Chris laughed as he stood next to him, "too bad you fucked up man, she looks pretty good tonight."

"Shut up"

"You can always talk to her you know, she doesn't hate you."

"No she just dislikes me very strongly" Seb mockingly glared at Chris.

"Look, im her friend but I'm also yours and listen when I tell you, she doesn't hate you at all. She was hurt, you hurt her yeah but she doesn't hate you. There is always room to mend things." Chris gave his back a pat and walked away to greet the very person they were talking about.

-

About an hour and a half had passed before he saw her again. Dancing with some of their friends having fun.

She looked so alive, so happy.

He saw her start to walk the kitchen area, where he was. She, in all her glory, walked in and headed for the counter top that held drinks. All he did was watch, not trusting his voice.

"Are you gonna just stare at me all night or do you have another agenda" he was taken back by her voice, he almost cringed at the bitterness it held.

"Not that it would be any different to any other times we were together" she added turning to look at him.

"I- uh, hello Valerie. Long time.
You look great"
he cursed himself for stuttering.

"Thanks, I think everyone's calling it a 'post break up glo'."

He sighed and run a hand down his face.
"Look Val I -"

"Don't call me that."

"Valerie"
"I'm sorry for everything, or more fitting, nothing. I'm sorry for giving you nothing and not being there and just beating a bad boyfriend, even friend. I'm sorry but
the past few months have been hell and
I know I don't deserve it but please, please
talk to me give me another chance.
Even to be your friend I'll show you I know
different now, I know better."

She stood silenced for a moment, she could feel her eyes watering up.
"You know I really want to hate you Sebastian, I really do. But I can't and I hate that I can't and I hate that you can just say that and I'm actually thinking about it."

"Valerie please, I miss you so much.
I love you so much."

"Don't say that, rule 1 don't say that.
You were once my bestfriend, prove to me you can be that again. It's not going to be easy"

"Thank you"

"Don't thank me yet, you could still fuck up again."
