I hung my head in sorrow, a tear making a salty track down my grime streaked face, dropping onto Cas' cheek.
If this was goodbye forever, then I had to do something I didn't have the guts to do since purgatory.
Slowly, I leaned over him, cupping his face in one hand, the other propping myself up on the ground.
Closer and closer, I soon had my lips on his. They were dry, but still wonderfully soft. I closed my eyes, more tears streaming down my face, but I made no effort to stop them. I could feel the warmth of his body leaving him, and I quietly leaned back, staring once again at his beautiful face.
I still looked for signs of life, my vision blurry from the tears. I still looked for any movement, silently hoping that, like in a chick flick Disney movie, my kiss had somehow revived him and brought him back.
I don't know how long I just sat there, staring at him and crying. The night was surprisingly quiet, considering what had just happened. The cool air stirred the pine trees slightly, the lake surface rippled, and my whole world had exploded.
A hand on my shoulder startled me and I turned my head to look behind me. Standing there, a concerned frown on his face, was Sammy. I directed my gaze to who was next to him.
Silvery hair, glowing eyes, about 18 years old, the whole nine yards. Hastily wrapped around him was Sam's jacket, as he was born naked.
Sam cleared his throat and said, "This is Jack," He gestured to the boy next to him. "Lucifer's son."
I struggled to my feet. At this moment, I didn't have the strength to fear this all-powerful being that could smite me with a thought.
"You," I pointed a finger at him, "Bring him back!"
Sam put his hand up, trying to placate me. "He said that Cas was his protector, and that of course he'll bring him back."
I glared at Jack. "Is that true?"
After a moment, Jack opened his mouth to speak.
"Castiel was the only father I have known. He helped my mother with her pregnancy, and betrayed his family to do it. It would be my honor to bring him back." His voice was soft and barely above a whisper, so I had to strain my ears to hear him.
I was slightly impressed after that little speech, but I didn't let it show. I was certain he would be a massive prick, like father like son, but there were more important things to think about.
"What are you waiting for, then?" I swept my hand towards Cas. "let's get this show on the road."
