Nico woke up with a feeling of dread. Partly because he couldn't remember how he fell asleep. Mostly because he found himself in a hospital, with only a thin hospital gown on. The room was they way you'd think it'd look like, with faded blue walls, with the counter to the left and the door on the other side of the room, and a giant curtained window to the right. Wires connected him to a heart monitor, and an IV pumped unknown liquid into his arm. The wall-clock read 9:27.
Nico was distraught. He was in an unknown place, with vague memory of any recent events. He was also completely exhausted, as if he'd shadow-traveled the Athenian Parthenon around the world again.
The only conclusion that he could come up with, is that he'd been captured.
By who and what reason was beyond him. He didn't remember fighting anyone, or if any giant wars had started again. The last big thing that had happened, had been when Apollo (with assistance, of course) rescued the Oracles as a mortal (long story, not now), and that was last spring.
However, he was in a hospital.
Not the Camp Infirmary.
No, a mortal hospital.
That can't be good.
Even with the screaming pain in his muscles, Nico shakily got out of bed, and yanked the wires off from underneath the hospital gown. In response, the heart monitor made a loud beeping noise that had most likely alerted all nearby doctors. Soon enough, three interns (one woman and two men) had hurried to his bedroom, surprise written all over their faces.
Before getting the chance to pull the IV out of his arm, two of the interns ran over and held his arms back, while the third one pushed Nico back onto his bed into a sitting position.
"Whoa, kid! Calm down! We're trying to help you!" said Intern #1, who was keeping Nico on the bed, despite his many weary attempts to force his way up.
"Sir? I need you to keep calm. Everything will be alright," said Intern #2, who let Intern #3 take over holding Nico's arms, and had somehow gotten a Doctor's bag. She then pulled out a flashlight and shined it into Nico's eyes. "Eyes are normal." Putting the tool back, she then pulled out what looked like a metal triangle with a handle, and hit both of Nico's knees, who accidentally almost kicked Intern #1. "Fast reflexes."
"Ow! What are you doing?!" yelled Nico.
"Kid, if you don't cooperate, we will be forced to tranquilize you. I assure you, none of us here want that," said Intern #1.
Nico knew that they meant 'knock him out', so he stopped trying to get up. He was growing even more tired anyway. Intern #3 let go of his arms, and Nico crossed them. Intern #1 breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you. Okay, I know you may be a little confused as to why you're here," 'a little' didn't even begin to describe Nico's confusion. "But we are trying to help you. I'm Brian, that's Grace," he motioned to Intern #2, who was typing away at a computer. "...and Phil." He motioned to Intern #3, who had just put away the doctor supplies. "Now what's you're name?"
Nico, of course, was more skeptical about his own identity. But he couldn't find any immediate consequences to telling his name. Besides, he did not want to got through the trouble of coming up with a realistic fake name in the short time he had.
"My name's Nico. Nico di Angelo. I have to go," he said, moving to get out of the bed. But of course, he was stopped by Brian.
"No you don't, kid. I'm sure wherever you need to be can wait," said Brian. "Now, I have a few more questions to ask you." Nico realized that it was a statement, not a question. He nodded. "Alright. First, how old are you?"
