Luckily Arin switched spots with me. I couldn't handle sitting next to that kid, he kept raging over not being able to solve his little Rubik's cube.
I walk over to Arin's old seat and sit down. I can feel someone's presence next to me but i don't acknowledge them. Only because I didn't want to embarrass myself. I was also terrified of flying so i decided, before the plane took off i would walk to the bathroom to collect myself.
I walk back to my seat and glance at the person sitting next to me. It was a kid around my age with pastel pink hair. I studied his face some more when he turned to me and smiled.
"Hi! Im Hobi!" He exclaims, with a little wave.
"Jessica," I mumble while looking down, trying to distract myself while we lift off.
"Are you nervous?" Hobi asked, pulling something out of his pocket.
"Yeah sorta, ive never really been on a plane before." I say looking up to him. He hands me a fidget spinner with the american flag printed onto it.
"This might help!" He smiles.
I laugh and spin the fidget spinner, i felt like a cringey twelve year old so i handed it back to him. He puts it back in his pocket and turns to me.
"So, since you've never been on a plane before, is this your first time traveling to korea?" He asks me.
"Oh, uh yeah my friend Arin and I are visiting another friend of ours, but i dont really know anything to do." I sigh.
"Oh! I know just about everything to do there!! I could show you guys!!" He says, excitedly.
I think about it for a moment, I mean, I just met the guy, but he seems nice. So why not.
"Oh okay,, that would be great." I say while handing him my phone to get his phone number. He gives me a questioning look.
"Oh just so we can keep in touch when we leave the airport." I explain. He nods and puts his number into my phone.
I grab my laptop out of my bag and turn it on.
"Do you wanna watch a movie??" I ask Hobi. He happily nods. I place the laptop between us, hand him a headphone, and pick out Minions.
