I walked up to the door and walked inside. I sat down at opposite end the Baileys sat at. ID please, the man said. Frankie, you know how old I am, Baileys dad laughed. Man, I dont know how old you are. You look like you nineteen to me, son, Frankie said. Whatever, Frankie, he laughed as he sat down.
How are you doing, Danny? Frankie asked. Better. Just got home. Seen the wife and kids. Theyre doing good. Anna is still crazy. Bailey is still causing trouble. Gina is still as beautiful as the day I first laid eyes on her, Danny said. Thats good. Bailey comes in every now and then to see how Im doing. I think she thinks that since Im practically family, Ill let her drink here, he said. She is something else, I swear, Danny said.
Anyways. You want something to drink? he asked. Yeah. Whiskey, Danny replied. And for your friend? he wondered. I freaked out when he said that. How did you know and whiskey, Danny asked. Your friend walked in, saw you, and sat down in the booth in the corner, he answered. Damn. Nothing gets passed you. I thought you would have dulled a little bit, Danny laughed. Youre absolutely hilarious, Danny. You know I wont do that. I have a business to run and I dont have a bouncer so I got to keep track who comes in and out, the bartender laughed. Thanks for the whiskey, Frankie, Danny said as he picked up their drinks and walked towards their table.
What can I get you? Frankie asked me. Water, I answered. You came to a bar to drink water? he asked. Yes. Im the DD, I said. Okay, Frankie said as he slid me a water. I got up and went and sat sorta kinda close to them.
Shes being followed. Is it a new thing that the program is doing with its new recruits? he asked showing a little worry in his voice. No. That is quite odd. Gina didnt put a tail on her? the man asked. No. Shes worried about her. She wants me to put an end to it and I didnt think that it was the program. Thats why I had to ask and confirm it wasnt or was the program. he said worriedly. I can look into it but the results probably wont be differently. the man said. Okay, he said.
We done? the man asked. Yes, Danny answered. Okay, the man said as he got up from the table. Thanks again for the whiskey. Youre welcome, he said as a waitress brought him another drink. Thanks dear, Danny said to the waitress. Youre welcome, honey, she said.
He waited until the vehicle left the parking lot before he got up to leave. Thanks for the whiskey, Frankie, Danny said as he got to the door. Anytime, Danny, he said before Danny closed the door.
I waited until I knew that Danny left to get up and leave. I got back to the truck. So. What did you find out? Bailey asked. He was meeting someone to talk about you being followed and the program, I answered. Thats the second time I heard about the program just tonight, she said. Damn. we still got nowhere with this, Dylan said. Well find something out, Bailey. I promise, I said. I hope we do. This is getting ridiculous, she said. Rachels? I asked. Rachels, she said.
