Blake's POV

"Finally, I get to relax" I thought to myself. Glynda had exercised us in training lessons until everyone was hunched over of exhaustion. My dorm room was empty so I flopped on my bed lazy and let out a sigh with mo effort to stifle it. I looked up from my pillow and saw wind blowing against the curtains of the window. For some odd reason it interested me enough to make me stand and walk over and lean the upper half of my body outside.

I smelled the summer night air and looked around. The stars were out and the wind was light yet present. The city, many stories below, was alive and bright. The streets were filled and the sidewalks were active. Many restaurants had outdoor areas where people socialized together. I love the liveliness of the city. It's great to roam around. I jumped on the edge of the window and jumped to a distant tree.

I landed and shook the branch slightly. I peeked my head through the leafs and looked around. There was a brick fence lining the grass where the tree was planted. I hopped on the wall and crawled along it. I then climbed up a light post and stood right on the top and looked around. I then hopped down on the sidewalk. Oddly enough, I felt like I was being watched by something.. inhuman.. but yet I didn't feel threatened..

I walked around looking through windows showing families eating together and I decided to get ice cream and headed back. I was finishing my cone by the time I reached the tree. I climbed it and hopped from the branch to a window. I had to hop up more windows to reach my floor and then I tumbled in. It's funny how much energy I have to explore after training lessons.

With that said I started feeling tired and began settling in bed. Nothing feels better than a warm bed during the summer night after ice cream.. It feels good enough to leave a window open...

(Y/N) POV

"Ahh what a good night to eat" I said to myself as I walked in the crowd of people. I would usually stick to the spirits of horrible people but I need something better than that.. Their spirits are damaged and more bitter. Then I saw her. The embodiment of a black cat in the night. She crawled on a fence and tree and started walking..

I leaned against the wall she crawled on and looked down at my phone when really I was looking as she passed by me. She went to an ice cream parlor and while she was in there, I examined her oath from the tree and wall and saw an open window up high on Beacon Academy. That must be her room. I prayed she leave her window open on her way back up.

I couldn't possess her while she's awake and aware, her senses would alert her of my connection to her being. Also if she closed her window, I wouldn't be able to get in. Beacon is consecrated and I cannot phase through it's walls unless I enter the building through an opening. It can be a window or door and once I'm in, I can pass through the walls of the inside of the building.. At least until I leave again.

The lady stepped out and ate her cone along the sidewalk. When she finished it and climbed up. She climbed window to window nimbly. She crawled in the exact window I pegged as hers and just as I had hoped, she left it open. I waited 30 minutes and I went behind the wall where there was no one.

I changed from physical to spiritual form and walked towards the building. I knocked on the academy's wall and just as I thought, mg hand didn't go through. I climbed up the window sills until I reached hers. I climbed in and I felt a wave of freedom as I knew I had access to anywhere in this building. I looked around and observed four beds, three empty and one with the cat like lady sleeping.

Once my eyes fell upon her and now that I saw her still and up close, she seemed.. different.. As if she was more beautiful. But it was no matter.. I can't not feed or else it will happen soon.. I leaned over her still body and still as a spirit, I phased my hand into her head and closed my own eyes. I saw it there, her spirit. It was a black cat, curled and asleep peacefully. It had a slight glow to it as if light could be colored black.

I approached it and picked it up. In my arms it was still asleep and I smiled, about to enjoy the meal. But then the creature awoke as I smiled and I froze. It was the eyes, those bright eyes that spoke the spirit's power. I could do nothing to stop it as it meowed and when it did, it shoved my out of the lady's spirit area and I got pushed back onto the bed across the room. It even forced me into my physical form.

"Blake.." The wind seemed to whisper her name in my ear and an image of a cat, her spirit, was burned within my brain. I instantly knew what this meant.. It was a spirit connection.. It meant my spirit fell in love with the one of Blake's and vice versa.. I stood and approached her. I looked at her closed eyes and I could faintly see the eyes of her spirit.

Her spirit was in love with mine and I realized, I was in love with Blake.. I heard footsteps of three more people approaching. I kissed her forehead then went back to my spiritual form. I whispered to her spirit "I'll be back." and the door opened. I can't be seen as a spirit but I knew I couldn't stay. The risk of being discovered as a trespassing demon in Beacon Academy was much too high.

Three girls then walked through the door and I walked through their bodies and the open door. I walked through walls until I was out of beacon. I'll find Blake wherever she may be tomorrow.. I just have to follow my instincts..

Blake's POV

I was asleep after my walk in the streets when I was awoken by Ruby, Yang, and Weiss coming in the room. "(Y/N).." I heard in the wind. I looked around quickly for the source of the noise. The others paid little attention to me as they were already in their beds and half asleep. Then I realized I couldn't stop thinking of a glowing smile.. It was brighter than a normal person's and I couldn't help wanting to see the smile with my eyes..

I made the connection that the name whispered in the wind had to be the smile's owner. I had to find this (Y/N) whoever.. or whatever he may be..

Thanks for reading guys and I may be a bit slow at first, I still have to catch up on the latest volume. This is more of a warm up story and is outside of the current events of the series. Anyways, I can't forget to disclaim things, I do not own any characters or names in this story. Now I hope you guys enjoyed, I should have the next chapter out soon enough. As always, Stay Silent.
