Rory’s POV
I needed Ashton out of my life! He was always finding his way back and I can tell you right now that it’s not just a coincidence.
Calum ‘taught’ me how to avoid and stay away from him as much as I could. He gave me some of his sweats and sweatshirts which wasn’t anything new. We worked on blending in with the crowd. And just plain hiding my face.
I know that I can’t hide forever, cause he will catch on to what I’m doing. But for now, ignoring him at all costs is what I plan to do.
“Okay, now we have to work on your voice” Calum said bending his head but still keeping his eyes on me.
“What? I thought that I was just using a disguise” I whined and watched as Calum broke out into a chuckle.
“Do you want me to help you or not?” He said bluntly. I nodded unsurely.
“Ok, I’ll pretend to be Ashton and you’re you” He spoke proudly then got into the position Ashton always kept when he was sitting at his desk.
“Rory?! I’ve been looking everywhere for you!” He said almost in Ashton’s voice.
“What? Rory died! I don’t know much about her, but I do know that she doesn’t like you and that you should do something good with your life” I smiled proudly at my impression of a random boy.
“That’s more like it!” Calum yelled and laughed, me joining in.
“This is actually really fun, but I have a feeling Ashton won’t buy that story” I stopped laughing and raised an eyebrow.
Calum took a long sigh before he answered.
“Maybe not, but we tried” His lips went into such a small curve at the edges, that you could barely tell he was smiling.
“Actually, since he knows that I’m not dead, I think he’d be more worried, Calum” I chucked but he didn’t even let his teeth show.
“Rory, I tried okay? There’s really nothing I can do to keep him away from you” Calum started to get red in the face.
Was he really being angry? What did I do? I thought.
“He is just really attached and I guess I can’t be your protector all the fucking time! Okay?!” Oh my god. Were me and Calum getting into our first fight?
No..I’m just dreaming!
“Rory, I’m sorry that Ashton is such a fucking burden! But I can’t protect you all the time, dammit!”
“Calum, why are you yelling at me?!” I was so confused!
“BECAUSE I CANT BE YOUR FUCKING PROTECTER!” He yelled one last time. Okay I was done with this. We’re getting into a fight about something so stupid!
“Get out” I said, moving my hair out of my face.
“What?” He said furrowing his eybrows and cocking his head.
“I said to get the hell out of here” I repeated calmly.
And with that, Calum opened the door and slammed it shut.
I walked to the couch, my tears blurring my vision. I needed one person that I could count on right now. One that won’t judge me.
Molly.
