The Next Day

"Which one should I wear?" I say to Avery, holding up two outfit options for my date with Hunter later today. I look at the dresses, then back at Avery. She does the same. "Well, did he say it was a formal date or a casual one?" Avery says, putting a finger in the dimple on her right cheek, tapping it, as if she is thinking.

"Well, he said to wear my prettiest outfit, so I would assume formal. But I don't know how formal. Like semi-formal... evening ball gown formal... just pick one for me please!" I say, bouncing up and down on the balls of my feet anxiously.

"Ok! Geez, so demanding. That one," she says, pointing at the outfit in my right hand. I smile at her and put down the outfit in my left hand, and go into the dressing room of the store we're in, and put on the dress. It looks absolutely... perfect. It's black with lace at the top and for the sleeves, and is short in the front and long in the back. It is very flowy, and shows off my legs perfectly. I love it!

I come out of the dressing room grinning from ear to ear, and Avery gasps. "OMG, that one is perfect! We have to buy it!" she says, jumping up and down and squealing afterwards. I go back into the dressing room and take it off, and when I come out Avery pulls me off to the shoes area of the store. Well, looks like we're going to be here another 2 hours.

4 Hours Later

"Perfect!" Avery says, finishing curling my hair. I look at myself in the mirror of my vanity, and I look... absolutely stunning. My makeup isn't too much, but it also isn't too little. It brings out my cheekbones and highlights my skin tone perfectly. Avery is really good at this stuff.

I stand up from the chair and slide on my heels, going over to my full length mirror by my bed. "Woah..." I say, twirling and looking at myself from every angle. I knew I chose the right dress!

Then, the doorbell rings, and the butterflies in my stomach come back full force. "I'll get it!" Avery yells, and runs down the hall to get the door. I stay in my room until I hear Hunter and Avery talking, and then I walk out of my room slowly. Once I get to the end of the hall, I stop and lean slightly on the doorframe leading to the living room. "Hi..." I say, smiling at them. Hunter's head pops in my direction, and his eyes open wide, taking in all of me.

"Woah... Emily," he says, and then I notice that he is wearing a suit and tie! Looks like I didn't overdress. Thank God, because I need to make a good first impression. "You look... stunning," he says, coming over to me and taking my face gently in his hands, and kissing me. Avery clears her threat from across the room, and Hunter pulls away, blushing. We both turn towards Avery, smiling. "You two kids have fun, and be safe. You hear me?" Avery says, and Hunter and I both nod, laughing. "Milady," Hunter says, and gently takes my hand, leading me out to his car. Although when we get outside I realize it's not his car we're going to.. it's a LIMO!
