Dragon Whore

Chapter 02

It was like the universe blinked. Darkness for a millisecond, then the same scene was revealed, only the serpent lay in pieces next to a black knife in Razze's hand. Splashes of red dotted her figure, but she seemed to pay no mind.

Suddenly an ominous sizzle sounded, causing Razze to spin around faster than lightning. Death would certainly have claimed her if she hadn't thrown her foot into the side of the snake's head when it lunged.

Feet naturally falling into a fighting stance, her pupils turned to slits. The world again went dark a moment. A thin man with scales surrounding his face and covering his arms appeared. His hair was black as night and his eyes were red as blood. The skin not covered by jet black scales was the shade of paper. A long, thin scaly tail coiled around one of his legs. He stood tall and confident, just as his mistress did.

"Make quick work of him for me," Razze commanded.

"Yes, mistress."

Shadows congregated around him and started lifting up off the ground to wrap around his feet and ankles. It happened so quickly you couldn't see it. The beast seemed to have spontaneously melted into a puddle of mixing red and pink and green unidentifiable liquids. The man disappeared. Damn, I need to get better at fighting on my own.

"Oh, mademoiselle, we did not expect you back!" the doorman exclaimed, "So soon!" he quickly rushed in to seem less heartless.

"I am the strongest member of Fairy Tail; you should not underestimate me," Razze pretended not to notice his slip.

The Frenchman grabbed something from behind the closed door. "Oh, merci! Merci a million times, lovely mademoiselle! Here, your pay. The exact amount promised."

Razze took the bag of money and headed home without even a goodbye. Only, she did not head towards Fairy Tail; she headed back towards the mountains. Once she was a decent distance, there was a flash of light, and when it had died down, she had vanished.
