When I booted up the game again a few days later, I ended up in the Lost Woods. Nothing was here, so it seemed like just a debug room. I looked around for a few minutes while the intro music was playing in the background. After a little bit, I ran into a familiar face...or mask, really. Majora's Mask was just floating in the air with Skull Kid's head on the back of it. I tried hitting it and opening my menu to use something else, but nothing worked. I still couldn't see my items or anything else. When I stepped in front of i one last time, Link turned around a little, as if he was peering over his shoulder at the mask, then the game froze. From there, I had to reboot.
The option to select a file never came it. I guess it just automatically assumed that I was going to pick the only other profile on the cartridge, but it was still weird. Actually, it didn't even loat the start menu. It went straight into a cutscene. Everything was black except for the Majora's Mask in the center of the screen. The text box that came up said "Well..." followed by "Shall we play?" After a few more second, I got an item: the Feirce Diety Mask. The last thing I saw before i left the cutscene was another text box. This time it said: "You...will...pay...for what you've done...to...me..." I stopped and tried to think about what the mask meant, then I remembered.
It was referring to the Majora's Mask manga. It talked about how Majora was this powerful dragon with great armor. He was protecting is land from people who wanted it and/or the armor he wears. When Fierce Deity Link (or whom ever this person actually is) came up, Majora said that he might as well just leave because everyone who has faced him has lost. Saying nothing, FDL pulled out his ocarina and played Majora a lullaby for three consecutive days, ending the beast's life. Not only did FDL take Majora's armor and made it into his own, but he carved the Majora's Mask into a slab of the fallen dragon's armor and sealed the spirit inside of it.
I think that's what Majora meant by 'you will pay'...but I never thought that that dialogue would even happen...
