She didn't need a man in her life she always told herself. So busy keeping her grades up, she didn't worry about it. Her last relationships proved they weren't even worth it so she basically gave up on romance all together and just focused on getting a successful career. She wanted to be a psychologist, to understand the thinking process of the human brain. It fascinated her. It always had since her mother's unexpected suicide.
She slid on her converse and went on a walk on the beach near her home as she usually did in mornings to clear her head. The sound of the waves and the sunrise really helped release any built up stress. She needed it as she hadn't slept that night, as usual.
She left when the first car showed up and went by Starbucks. The guy who made her coffee was really cute.
"At least he spelled my name right."
Then she noticed more writing underneath.
Hey , Ashley. I thought you were cute so I attached my number in hopes you'll give me a call sometime - Ross
" Haha right."
And she drove home.
