[First Person Chapter]

[Mirasol, Age 12]

I walk along the clean and perfect hallways glancing at the expensive art and the perfectly cut marble thinking.

My life is pampered.

I am Princess Mirasol. I am an important face in the kingdom of Oceanside. We used to rule the entire world until the rebellion happened and blah blah blah-

We lost half our kingdom. But it's been calmer now and we able to sleep at night without wetting the bed at every creak.

I walk into the throne room and face my father, King Oceanside.

"Ah, my dearest Mirasol, how was your morning meals."

I groaned.

"The 18 stacks of pancakes with Caviar syrup were delicious, the herbal bath and back massage was "divine" and the hedge art of me was...uh...." I paused searching for another fancy word to describe the horrible sculpture of me.

"It's alright, but you know....you're starting to look a lot like your mother, Mirasol."

I froze. My father never spoke about my mother the queen. The servants say that my father murdered her or she commuted suicide. But all the rumors revolve around her death. I beg to differ.

"W-What about my mother..." I stuttered to get the words out. I don't have much knowledge about her and I was wanted to get as much in as possible.

"The dress you are wearing was the one she wore when I first met her, thinking back on it as an adult makes me realize how....pure....and....delectable she was." My father licked his lips. He was acting up again. I screamed for a bodyguard and he tackled the king bringing him back to his normal self. I then continued out to the patio.

Living in a kingdom called Oceanside is bound to have its oceans. The clear, warm waters seem to soothe anybody who steps into them.

"I wish I could swim down there..." The bodyguards say I will be introduced to the poorer communities waters and I will be "contaminated"

"All these stupid rules! Mother would have let me do whatever I wanted to do!" I looked outwards at the far ocean islands.

".....Right...."
