I anxiously scan the courtyard as our Audi Q7 SUV pulls up in front of Sanford Academy with the other Mercedes-Benz's sandwich between us.

"God this must be a fucking joke." I muttered to myself as I got out the car. All the girls are wearing skirts that resembles my old field hockey kilts, and the guys are dressed in ties and blazers. I definitely stand out with my high waisted shorts and .my "unnecessary" large flannel-my mom would say. You see, if my mom and dad were my age, they'd blend right in! Mom's your average real-estate agent, always has her best smile on and freshly baked cookies. Pop's a lawyer. Shocker. My parent's been pushing me toward the medical field but I'm only sophomore. I guess being a doctor or nurse wouldn't be -

My thoughts were interrupted by a loud thunk of a suit case hitting the concrete ground. I jump a little and look over. A boy about my age who looked like he just stepped out from a vineyard vines catalog stares back in disgust at my worn out white converse. I quickly look away and turn back to my parents. My mom is crying uncontrollably and my dad is trying to be tough. He helps me with my suit case and my mom won't let me go. I can't say that I'm too excited to stay at a boarding school, I will miss my parents and Leo, my Siberian husky and all my friends. I didn't have to come here, I could've just went to a public school, but my grades and with the full scholarship I got offered, my parents weren't going to pass up that opportunity. I was lucky enough to transfer when I did. I guess I don't really have a choice.

"I guess this is goodbye." I said bluntly.

That just made my mom cry even harder. Shoot. I wish I didn't say it like that. At least, I didn't mean for it to come out that way.

My dad steps forward and we awkwardly hug. By hug I mean him holding me for an uncomfortable amount of time while I stand there stiff like a soldier.

"I love you Stass, stay out of trouble honey." He mumbles

At that point I just released all the emotions I've been keeping in and just started to bawl my eyes out. My parents both hugged me and I was the first to break our group hug. I grabbed my suitcase and wheeled my way down a path of other embarrassed kids and their emotional parents. I didn't dare to look back, it would just hurt too much.

I struggle to get to my dorm with other confused students trying to find their rooms, and some boys playing hallway hockey. Ugh, tools. I finally reach room 205, I close my eyes and hope that I am the first to arrive to get first pick of my side of the room. Crossing my fingers I slowly open the door and find that someone else has already beat me to it. I roll my eyes at their Louis Vuitton luggage set. Where is this girl? I'm startled by a loud slam of the bathroom door and "this girl" is actually a guy. Since when did boarding schools allow two different genders to be roommates? Maybe he's lost?

"Hey, I'm Grayson." His hand's extended towards me.

I stare blankly at him, he repeats and I shake his hand. I don't say anything but he asks for my name.

"Uh, um... Anastasia- but you can call me Stass." I try to say as calmly as I can. I hold my hands behind my back to keep from shaking.

"Cool, I hope you don't mind if I get the bed nearest to the window. It's this thing I have."

"Um, yeah for sure. I don't care." I attempt a smile.

He doesn't even acknowledge me. I dropped my bags near my bed and I went to the bathroom. I squeal into my hands. He is so hot. I wrap my ombré hair into a bun. Then I quickly take it out and shaking around to give it more volume. Alright, I'm ready. I walk out the bathroom and he's not there. Figured. He probably went to go hangout with his preppy friends or preppy girlfriend. A guy that hot cannot be single. Right?
