Vanessa's POV
I was speechless for a few minutes. He asked. "Why not? Of course" I said, with the biggest smile on my face. Hopefully he didn't realize how bad I was blushing. That's crazy haha, but after all it's just homecoming. It's all about having fun, right? That's all I'm really going for. To have a great night, a unforgettable one with friends. It's not like I'm his girlfriend. I'm hoping he doesn't ask me the real question. Although, I'm realizing I like him I don't want to hurt him. A person like me doesn't deserve a person like him. At homecoming, I'll avoid the big question.
Daniel's POV
She's blushing like crazy, it's adorable. "Why not? Of course" she said with the biggest smile on her face. The moment I heard that I smiled so big, probably ear to ear. I get off my knee and put the necklace around her neck and then I hug her really tight and kiss her cheek. "We'll have fun." I really like her, but I think I'm gonna wait awhile. After all, a guy like me doesn't deserve a perfect girl like her. We walk around for awhile and then we get our stuff, exchange numbers and go our separate ways for the night. "Text me when you get home? So I know you made it safe?" I ask her. "Yeah." She says still blushing. I hug her one last time before she gets in her car, I kiss her cheek and surprisingly she kisses mine back. "Thank you Daniel." She smiles and leaves. I'm left there smiling like and idiot and blushing. Gosh I really like her, and with that, I'm driving home with butterflies.

Vanessa's POV
There is something about him. Something that makes me feel, um. What's the word, safe? I don't know and I be sure about it. After all, that's what I thought about the last I guy I have dated. They just end up screwing you over. Sometimes I get that feeling that hey, I'm going to be an asshole and not show my emotions anymore. But of course, I'm just one of those people who is constantly showing my emotions. It's not so easy, because people find you weak. Well who am I kidding? I am weak. Hopefully, this time I can hide my emotions from him. I don't want to get hurt again. I'm done feeling pain, that's all I've been feeling. I just want to have fun and what not. His smile is just the most adorable thing ever. Somehow, I feel like he goes through so much and seeing someone smile like that is priceless. Maybe that's why I love it so much. Having a friend like him and going to homecoming as just friends might be a blast.
Daniel's POV
God, she's amazing. Her eyes tell me a lot though, she's been hurt. I know that because we go to the same school. Her boyfriend hurt her pretty badly. I've seen her cry at school with her friends. It broke my heart. I hope she can't see how broken I am, me and my ex always would fight. I thought I really loved her, I gave her everything, she turned out to be a cheat, plus my problems at home and stuff. I have a feeling about Vanessa though, I've liked her for like ever, then high school rolled around and now I think I love her.
Finally. Home sweet home. I miss Vanessa already though. I look at the calendar in the kitchen. "Oh shit! Homecoming is tomorrow!" I looked shocked as this anxious feeling takes over my body. "Yes mijo. Did you get a suit?" My mom says as she walks in the kitchen. I smile at the sight of her. "Yeah mom, and the girl I've been telling you about for like ever is my date!" She smiles as do I and she hugs me. "We'll go shower and get some rest." She kisses my cheek and I shower and what not and go lay in bed. I start falling asleep until I hear my phone go off. It's Vanessa. I smile appears on my face. I read the text that reads, sorry it's a bit late, I was busy. Pick me up tomorrow at 7?" I reply instantly, Sure thing, sleep tight beautiful. With that I fall asleep peacefully.
*Beep! Beep! Beep!* I wake up a little late and I get dressed in some cargos and a white shirt and some vans and go to the florist to buy flowers for Vanessa tonight. I get her a bouquet of assorted red and white roses and then I go have lunch at Roberto's. Its about 4 now and I have 3 hours until I go pick up Vanessa and 4 hours until homecoming. I rush home and get dressed in my suit and my mom puts a flower in the little front pocket and she helps me do my hair and what not and then I spray this really fancy, very nice smelling cologne on myself. I look at the clock, it reads 6:30. I grab the flowers and I hop in my car and drive to Vanessa's house I arrive at 6:55 and wait till 6:59 until I text her. I'm here gorgeous. I stand at the passenger side door with the flowers in my hands looking at her door waiting anxiously to see how beautiful she looks in that dress again. I have a huge smile on my face.
