Dylan’s POV:
After Danielle had fallen asleep again, I just held her in my arms and watched her sleep. I couldn’t believe how beautiful she was and how lucky I am to have her as my mate. I knew she had been hurt a lot by her dad and just thinking about it made my blood boil in me. I would never let anyone hurt my mate ever again.
We stayed in bed until noon the next day and after we had eaten lunch I finally got Danielle to tell me why she hadn’t been able to sleep and left me all alone in the bed last night. I hated the fear that was in her eyes as she told me, I just wanted take her in my arms and hold her until I died. But even though I didn’t want to admit it, she was probably right about her dad. She has known him her whole life and knows how he acts.
I had my own place four hours away but I couldn’t ask her to leave her hometown and the only family she had ever known, the alpha’s family, so I decided that I would move here. The alpha was helping me to find my own place but I hadn’t told Danielle yet. I wanted it to be a surprise.
Even though I was worried about her dad I couldn’t help but be happy and smile each time I looked at Danielle or thought of her and our future. I couldn’t wait until we got married or until she was carrying my pups. Just the thought of that wanted me to take her to bed instantly. But I knew we both were to young and that she wasn’t ready for any of it yet and to be honest, neither was I.
I pushed those thoughts away and started to think about what I would do with Danielle’s father. There was no way in hell that I would let her move back there or let him get anywhere near her and I knew the Alpha’s family felt the same way. I just had to figure something out to make sure Danielle would stay safe.
