After we finished dinner I went upstairs and took my shower. As I finished up my shower I get dressed and head to my room. I take my necklace off and put it on my dresser so I don't lose it. I lose things easily okay don't judge! Anyway, after I did that I went downstairs to get a drink from the kitchen. As I got to the bottom of the stairs I was about to enter the kitchen when I heard my mother ask me "Why are you still up?" I jumped when I heard her and turned to face her clenching my chest "You just scared the life out of me!" I say still having a freaking heart attack...thanks mom! "So, you didn't answer my question Ainsley. What are you doing up?" She asked again this time in a more stern voice. "I was going to get some water." I tell her looking really confused. Why is she so concerned she usually never questions me when I come down for anything. "Okay well get your water and head to bed. We have a very busy day tomorrow." She says as she heads up the stairs leaving me alone standing in the kitchen doorway confused out of my mind.

I'm laying in my bed sleeping when I wake up to the sound of my bedroom door opening; I'm a very light sleeper okay? The smallest noise wakes me up. Back to the point I lay there and pretend to still be asleep. I always keep a pocket knife under my pillow just in case I ever need it. In this case, I think I need it. I slowly move my hand making it look as if I'm just shifting in my sleep and grab the knife. When I hear their footsteps start to walk towards my bed I quickly open the knife and stand to face them pointing the knife at them. As I stand there my vision starts to focus and I realize who I have my knife pointed at and immediately regret it. It's my mom. "Mom? What are yo-" but before I could finish my sentence she touches my forehead with the tips of her fingers and everything goes pitch black.
