Breakfast was awkward. Your girlfriend and your best friend exchanging and rebuffing fake pleasantries as you ate. It was like watching a match of tennis, Klaus would say something to you and Rebekah would deal a back hand of a snide comment, Klaus would quickly retort with something snippy and the cycle would repeat.
"What do you think about the party Marcel's throwing?" Klaus asked you with a smirk.
"Well..." You went to respond.
"That's an excellent Nik invite my girlfriend to a vampire party." Rebekah sighed with a disapproving look to her brother.
"She was my friend first." Klaus hummed, knowing it always bother Rebekah.
"What were you doing hanging around a high school Nik?" Rebekah asked with a smirk.
"I was looking for a witch who wasn't in school that day." Klaus responded quickly. "But (Y/N) very helpfully told me how to get hold of her."
"I didn't, I said she lived in town." You said suddenly interrupting the conversation.
"I know; my nasty big brother stole your best friend." Rebekah hummed as she kissed your cheek.
"She deserved it." Klaus muttered coldly.
"Can we go to Marcel's party?" You asked hopefully.
"If I'm free later then sure we can." Becca answered with a smile.
------------------------------------------
You were flopped in the centre of Rebekah's bed, your dress and make up, perfect but there was no sign of Rebekah. Klaus strolled past and leaned against the door, smirking when you looked up, hoping he was Rebekah.
"You want me to take you to the party, I'll call Rebekah while were there so she can meet us?" Klaus hummed as you sighed and checked your phone.
"Fine, but if she gets mad I'm blaming you." You said, grabbing your bag and tucking it into his coat pocket.
Rebekah hadn't been kidding when she said it was a vampire party and you were staring to doubt yourself. Everywhere you looked there was a vampire feeding and you wished you'd worn something more than a thin gold necklace, that Rebekah had given you, around your neck.
Most of your evening was spent avoiding being bitten, occasionally clutching onto Klaus when a vampire became more forward. He chuckled and sent the vampire away, making fun of you for being afraid of them.
It was towards the end of the night when Rebekah texted to apologise for being late and to ask if Klaus was looking after you. Before you could reply a vampire approached you, Klaus had moved away to talk with Marcel, both of whom were distracted.
You dialled Rebekah's number and she happily spoke to you as she hurried from the house to find you, threatening the vampire who shrank back from her.
"Hey it's ok." She whispered when she turned to find you almost in tears. She placed kisses all over your face until your smiled, linking your hand with hers as you walked home together.
Once you were home she ran you a bath while you let your hair down, kissing you softly as you headed into the bathroom.
--------------------------------
"(Y/N)?" Klaus called out nervously. He'd lost you and there was no doubt in his mind that Rebekah would get him back for it.
"You need to keep your hands of her, she's my girlfriend and I love her Nik... I won't have your recklessness whipping her from this earth." Rebekah bellowed as she came out of nowhere. She hesitated when his back hit the stairs with a crack, his eyes guilty, refusing to look directly at her.
"I'm sorry Becca." Klaus muttered.
"If you speak to her again tonight I'll dagger you." Rebekah huffed protectively although she wasn't sure if she meant it.
As soon as they heard you leave your bathroom Rebekah let him go and hurried upstairs. Wrapping her arms around you as you giggled, letting her kiss down your neck. You dressed and climbed into bed with her, the two of you deciding to spend the rest of the night alone.
