---Asif's POV---

I didn't want to tell Kanika that I hadn't eaten proper food yesterday or today. I really missed her cooking and would get fast food or food from a proper restaurant.

"You are finally home. Come and eat," Mom said.

"I have food. Thanks though," I said.

"I bet his wife told him not to eat while she was gone," I heard our maid say.

No! No! No! I will not put up with anyone saying anything against her.

"Excuse me," I said.

"I think she's right," Mom said.

"For your kind information, my wife did not tell me anything. Oh and remember how you lied yesterday, about her making lunch," I said.

"Lie? We didn't lie," Mom said.

"Mom please. Kanika was sending me the time and her location the whole time and met me before leaving," I said.

They both looked shocked to hear that.

"Now you are my mom so I can't do anything to you but," I said turning to our maid. "You I can fire."

They both looked at me with wide eyes and open mouths.

"So remember that you are the maid and if I ever hear anything and I do mean anything from you, I will fire you in a spilt second and not even worry about it," I said.

I turned to leave, but decided to add something important.

"This was my first and final warning," I said and went upstairs.

---Kanika's POV---

"Just ask the maid where it is," my friend said.

The baby shower had taken a turn. My friend began to experience pain and we had to rush her to the hospital.

I found her maid and told her what happen. We both began to look for the baby bag. At least this maid was better than the other one.

Once we got to the hospital, we had to wait for what felt like a century.

She wasn't due until next month, so hopefully everything goes well.

My phone went off again and I looked to see it was my husband calling. I wished he was here right now, because I really needed someone.

---Asif's POV---

Is she planning on sending me to voice-mail again?

"H--hel..hello," she said.

"Why are you crying?" I asked.

I figured that out in as soon as she spoke.

"Asif," she said.

"Are you okay? Do you need me to come there?" I asked.

"She," she said.

"What happen? Please tell me," I said.

"The baby," she said.

Oh okay. I took a deep breath realizing that my wife was alright.

"What happen to the baby?" I asked.

"She went into labor today and," she said.

"Wasn't the baby shower today?" I asked.

"Yes. We were wrapping up the baby shower and she felt pain so we rushed her to the hospital and the baby is here," she said.

Thank God!

"But it's in an incubator," she said. "I'm really worried."

"It's okay. Everything is going to be okay. She delivered just a month early and I know someone that delivered a month early as well. It's okay, she's going to be fine," I said.

"Thanks. I really needed that," she said.

"Always," I said.

"Did you have your dinner?" She asked.

"Eating right now," I said. "What about you?"

"Going to in a bit," she said.

"Okay. I need you to send me a picture of your dinner so I know you ate," I said.

"You didn't send one," she said.

"You didn't ask," I said.

"It's because I trust that you are taking care of your self," she said.

"So you are saying, that I'm not trusting you?" I asked.

"Basically, " she said.

"Send me a picture of your food," I said.

"Or what?" She asked.

"Oh and I don't take warnings," she said.

"First and last. Otherwise, you will have to have every meal with me every single day," I said.

"I don't mind. At least, I'll know that you ate," she said.

I smiled at that. This is so different, but the thing is, it's like we get along better when we aren't close to each other.

"I have to go. Doctor is here," she said.

"Picture," I said and before she hung up.

I laughed at that and went to eating my food.
