--Kanika's POV---

I couldn't even get up. My legs and arms had bruises. I knew I had to hide them. Who knows what she will say to Asif if he saw them?

I was a bit happy that he didn't carry the conversation on any further.

---Asif's POV---

"We have to talk," Dad said and we both left the house.

I needed to be away from everything. Those two need to figure everything out.

"What happen?" I asked him.

"We need to pick up dinner today," he said.

"That's what we need to talk about?" I asked.

He can't be serious right now.

"No. Come and sit," he said to me and I did.

We were at a park, by the picnic area.

"I know you don't want to hear about what is going on," he said

"I know you don't want to hear about what is going on," he said. "But, I need to tell you something."

"Go on," he said.

"When I got married to your mother, I thought it was going to be perfect. She seemed like such a good person," he said. "After, two weeks with her I realized I'm happier away from her.i wanted to file for divorce but she would blackmail me."

What? That I never knew.

"I wanted to be a part of your life," he said. "It got hard for me to stay with her, so I didn't get to be a part of your life. I regret it to this day."

Oh my God! Why didn't he tell me this earlier?

"Your probably wondering why am I telling you this now," he said and I nodded.

"I don't want you to turn out like me. Give your wife a chance. She wants this relationship to work out, I've seen it in the time I've been here and I may or may not have gone through some of her diary," he said.

"DAD!" I said. "That's personal stuff. I haven't even seen it."

"You never told me that there was a good point in your relationship," he said.

I smiled. It was during the time she went to the baby shower.

"Ya, when she was away...." I said and stopped talking.

Dad looked at me already knowing.

"Do you see what I mean? Do you really want to be happy away from each other?" He asked.

I didn't say anything. I wanted to have some time. After, a minute of thinking I answered him.

"No," I said.

"Then just listen to her. Sit down and talk it out. I understand that you feel the need to defend your mother, but you have to give your relationship a chance," he said.

I nodded.

"Because right now, she's having to put in a 110% and is still seen as the bad guy," he said.

"I'll talk to her after dinner," I said.

"Oh sh*t! We have to get dinner! Let's go," he said.

I laughed at his expression as we went.

---Kanika's POV---

I had ordered food for myself when I knew that his mother stepped out. Thankfully, the food arrived before she did.

I ate real fast and went back to covering up the bruises. I had set my makeup down, but it was on the edge and it broke.

Stupid pallet! Even the cream was all over the floor. I ran to get something to wash the floor.

I decided to put a cardigan on and call it a night. I put my fan on, so I won't be to hot.

---Asif's POV---

We had just set the dinner table.

"Mom, where's Kanika?" I asked.

"She's ate already," she said.

"I told her we would bring food," Dad said.

"She was probably tired," I said.

Mom didn't seem happy that I took her side.

After eating, I told them that I was going to check on her and talk to her.

I knocked the door, but there was no answer.

I swear to God, if she disappeared again. I didn't know what I'd do.

I walked in to find her asleep.

Well, this conversation will have to wait.

Why is she sleeping with a cardigan on? She's probably cold. We had the AC on and she has her fan on. I turned the fan off for her. She's probably freezing.

She looks so peaceful sleeping. Like she's finally okay with her life. We're definitely going to talk everything out tomorrow.

I leaned in to kiss her forehead and noticed a bruise on her shoulder, since the cardigan had fallen off a bit.

What the hell?

I moved it a bit and saw how big it was. Okay, we are going to talk for sure.

I was about to leave when she grabbed my arm.

I turned and realized she only did it in her sleep. I was about to remove when I noticed a bruise on her arm.

Okay, forgive me for this. I rolled up both sleeves and there were bruises on both arms.

I moved the blanket to see her legs didn't have any. I turned to find what she had that could help her. Any medicine or anything. Instead, I found makeup and wipes. A majority of which were covered with blood.

She hid her bruises.

I went to my dad and asked for the first aid.

"What happen to her now?" Mom asked.

"She's sleeping. I need it," I said.

"What happen?" They both asked.

"I think we'll find out tomorrow," I said.

Dad told me where the first aid kit was and I took and put it in my room.

If she had covered the bruises with make-up. They would come off and she's going to need this. Perfect time, for her to tell me everything.
