Our Story

Chapter 1

Today is the day when we will gather again. So many years have passed since I have seen my best friend Thea and our group from high school.

We have grown up together and this friendship  means so much to both of us. After so many years have passed, we have finally decided to be together again for few days. Our group has seven members.

Thea is coming today from America to England with her grandchild Helen who will be with my grandchild Anna. I hope the girls will become as good friends as Thea and I have always been. We are happily married for so many years. I live in London with my husband and she lives in America with her husband. We couldn't be happier how her and mine life turned out. Everything we have wished  for has now come  true,  it is like we are living our dreams.

I remember one day, when we were little, Thea and I promised each other that we will always-

"Grandma! Someone is knocking on the door, should I opet it?" Little voice interrupted my thoughts.

"You can opet it dear. It is Thea with Helen." As fast as the words left my mouth, Anna ran to the door and opened it, welcoming Helen in the big hug.

They have been friends for five years now. Last time when Thea and I saw each other was five years ago and that was when Anna and Helen met for the first time. Somehow, since that moment, they have been trying very  hard to keep their friendship stable and as I am looking at their lovely hug right now, I know they did very good job about their  friendship.

"Come in, both of you." I tell Helen and Anna. When their hug ends, Helen runs to me and hugs me. I hug her back and after a few seconds Anna takes Helen's hand and takes her in her bedroom. And I am left with  my best friend since I can remember.

She comes in and closes the door behind her. The moment she closes the door is the moment I hug her so tight. I am just so happy we are finally together. It has been five years, but nothing can break our friendship. Through the hug, all the beautiful moments with her come back to my mind and I just know what  we will be doing until the afternoon.

"Oh my God. Long time no see Maria." Thea says when our hug breaks. "How much I missed you."

"Yeah. It has been five years. Come on, let's sit and talk about everything that we didn't talk about." We laugh.

We go into the living room and we sit together on  the couch and we start talking  about how everything started.

"Oh when I remember how our friendship started. I feel like it was yesterdsy that we entered that high school." She says remembering it.

"But here we are now, talking about it." I say, thinking  what  I wanted to show her.  "Oh yeah, last night I looked at some pictures of us back in the high school and as we have time now, do you want to go through them?" I ask her, even though I know the answer.

"Yes, of course. Yes. It would be amazing to see how everything  was considering  how everything has changed." She says.

"Yeah. Wait, I will go get them." I say and slowly stand up.

"Do you need a walking stick?" Thea asks and starts laughing.

"I see you still have your humor. It is good to know you have not lost it." I laugh along with her as I stand up and pick up some boxes from the ground and bring them to her.

"I can't wait to see them. Opet it." She says and I smile. It is not like she cannot opet it herself. Tipical Thea.

I open the box and the first picture makes me smile. It is a picture of  Thea and her boyfriend, now husband and me and my husband. She takes the photo in her hand and smiles.

"I remember this day. If we could only live one day like this, it would be amazing." Thea says. It really would, I think to myself.

"Just how we enjoyed it while we were young. We really did have so much fun."

"I can't wait for today. After five years, we will finally be all together. All seven of us. I am really looking forward." Thea says really quietly. We both are.

It has been five years since  we have all been together. All of us were so busy with their  own family that all we could do was a phone call, but even if those were just phone calls our friendship hasn't been ruined.

Today is finally the day when we will be able to spend  all together. Just like in high school.
 
Picture after picture and we haven't noticed how times has passed. When my phone lights up I notice that we are already late for  our meet up.

"Oh my God, we are so late." I say, standing up.

"Come on then. Let's go." Thea says. "Girls, have a great time, we will be back soon!" She shouts to the girls who are playing in the bedroom. They know that we are going to the meet up, so they don't bother coming out of the room.

"Don't open the door to anyone! We will be back soon. Love you girls." I say, locking the door and heading to the lift to have the best time of my life.
