(Charlie's POV)
Charlie was having a solo rave session in her room when she thought she heard a knock at the door. Why would anyone be here? She thought to herself. Mom and Dad aren't home so there's no one who'd want to be here with me.
Leaving the music on in case it was an ax murderer - her dad always told her not to let anyone know she was home alone if someone came to the door - Charlie carefully crept down the stairs. She was extra careful not to step on the creaky board that always gave her away to her parents and pressed her eye up to the peephole.
She about jumped back in surprise. Felix was turning to walk away from the door, his face pale and eyes wide and watery.
Charlie quickly unlocked the door and opened it. Felix startled and turned to look at her with big, sad eyes. He flushed slightly, a bit of color returning to his face.
“I-i didn't think you were g-gonna answer…. I-i’m sorry. A-are you busy? I c-can come b-back later…?” Felix stuttered his way through his salutation.
Charlie smiled sympathetically at the awkward boy. “Nah, I'm free now, kid. You picked the perfect time too. My parents are off on some trip or something. We got the place to ourselves!”
She opened the door wider and led Felix inside. “Welcome to my magical dreamhouse! The place where dreams come true, no matter how fantastical!” Charlie grinned at him and winked.
Felix blushed furiously and stumbled. Charlie laughed at his clumsiness. “You're such an adorable thing, Felix! Now come on. Are you hungry? What would you like? Some cereal? Yogurt? Spaghetti? I made it myself.” She paused, waiting impatiently for his answer.
Felix opened his mouth, then closed it, then opened it again and whispered, “um, thanks Charlie, but I already had dinner.”
Charlie frowned. “Oh. Well then why are you here?”
Felix looked at his toes. “I-i don't wanna talk about it right now, if that's okay with you,” he whispered.
Charlie frowned. Of course it was okay; why in the world wouldn't she be okay with that? “Oh, yeah, sure, that's fine!” Charlie stood there awkwardly for a moment trying to think of what she should do now. She'd never been in a situation where she didn't know what to do or say and it was kind of odd.
“Uh, so whatcha wanna do?” She asked after a minute of silence.
Felix just shrugged, looking at her with a slightly confused expression, as though saying, why are you looking at me? I don't know anything about human interaction. Charlie chuckled inwardly because, well, it was true.
“Um, so there's this show I watch sometimes, if you wanna watch that…?”
“Uh, y-yeah, sure. I guess that’s o-okay,” Felix mumbled.
“Great!” Charlie exclaimed. She flushed, feeling as though she'd been a little too excited. “Uh, I mean, great. It's called Supernatural. Hope you like demons, ghosts, and witches and shit.”. Charlie grinned evilly and quickly tugged Felix down the hallway to her room.
She plopped down on her queen sized bed and patted the space next to her. Felix awkwardly scrambled up next to her, landing sprawled out, legs akimbo. She giggled and tossed a pillow to him. He accepted it sheepishly and tucked it under his elbows.
Charlie grabbed the remote and quickly restarted the episode she'd last started watching. Jumping up off the bed, she ran over and switched off the lights. “Hope you don't scare too easy, my friend,” she whispered eerily into the dark, before clicking play and introducing Felix to the terrifying world of Sam and Dean Winchester.
