It had been a week since I last saw her. Me and the band were sitting in lead guitarist, Jason's, garage. They were drinking beers with blood tablets (Jasons a ghoul, bassist Valentine, is a vampire, and drummer Denny, is a werewolf). As for me, I was twisting the ring I always wore on my right pinky, daydreaming about Hope.
"What's going on Lucy? You've been silent for almost an hour now," asked Valetine. Valentine and I go way back (long and complicated story for another time).
"Hmm..?" I looked at her, eyebrow raised. "What do you mean?"
She chuckled. "Girl, I've known you for a hundred an' sixty seven years," she said matter of factly, tilting her beer bottle towards me. "Somethings on your-."
"She's in love," a sweet, angelic voice said. We all whipped our heads around. My heart jumped when I saw my older brother Wayde, standing in the garage entry. I could also see Hope peaking over his broad shoulders. I smiled, jumped up and ran into Hopes arms.
"Hey," she whispered into my ear.
"Hey," I repeated, a heartfelt smile on my lips. I stepped out of Hopes arms and turned to look at Wayde.
"Where have you been, big guy?" I asked.
"Torturing evil souls. I'm the personification of Wrath. What else would I be doing?" He pulled me into a hug and, squeezed me tight.
Wayde is six foot eight, has wide shoulders, and has the muscles of a body builder. His long scarlet hair was tied up in a man bun and he was wearing a tuxedo similar to mine.
"Wayde my man," Jason said, getting up.
"Jason my dude," Wayde said, pulling Jason into an embrace.
"What have you been up to, Jason?""Nothing much man. Just trying not to get into trouble with the Anti-Ghoul units. You?"
"Nothing much. Just came to see who caught my little sisters heart," he said looking from me to Hope, grinning like a maniac.
Valentine disappeared and reappeared behind Hope, breathing in her scent. "She smells... delicious," she said nipping at Hopes ear, causing her to flinch. Valentine chuckled at her reaction.
"Valentine," I warned.
"Just a little taste. Please," she whispered, her voice husky. She leaned forward and put her arms around Hopes waist, leaning towards her neck.
Anger boiled inside me. When she was about to bite into her neck, I sped towards Valentine and pinned her against the wall by her throat. She struggled to get free. Her eyes were glowing purple.
I whispered, "Sorry," into her ear and snapped her neck. Valentine went limp. Hope gasped as Valentine fell to the floor.
"She's not dead," Denny explained, "only knocked out."
"Oh..."
"I'm... sorry that... you had to... see that," I stuttered looking at the floor. She took three steps forward until she was right in front of me. She put her hands on my shoulders and pulled me close.
"It's ok," she whispered, wrapping her arms around me. I started to sob. "You were only protecting me. I would have done the same if I was you."
This is so humiliating, I thought. Her perfume was sweet and inviting.
"It's okay, Lucy. It's okay," she soothed, stroking my hair.
"Hope! Get away from these evil creatures," a firm commanding voice yelled. I looked towards the voice and saw a man no older than 27, pointing a gun at Wayde.
Hope stepped away from me, her hands in front of her. She turned towards the man. "Ted... put the gun down," she said shakily.
"No!," he yelled. He cocked the hammer of the revolver back, with a defining, click! I took a slow step forward and he pointed the gun at me. I raised my hands out in front of me.
"Ted. Listen to your sister," I told him gently. I could see anger and disgust in his eyes as he looked at me. "We weren't trying to hurt her," I explained, taking a step forward.
He squeezed the trigger.
It all happened so fast. I felt a sharp pain in my chest, right next to my heart. I fell to my knees, tasting copper in the back of my throat. My vision blurred.
Hope dashed to my side and caught me before I fell forward.
I looked up at her, and gazed into her Sapphire blue eyes. She was so beautiful. Her lips so full and kissable. Looking at her dulled the pain in my chest.
"Lucy! Lucy, can you hear me," she yelled.
I nodded. Wayde knelt down on the other side of me.
"Is there a way to help her," she asks him.
"Only one."
"What is it?"
"Blood," I whispered.
"Fresh from the vein," Wayde explained.
"I... I'll do it," she whispers.
"No," I whisper. "I'll take too much"
"I don't care," she yells sobbing. "Whatever it takes."
"Are you sure," Wayde asked.
She nodded. Wayde hands her one of his various blades.
She put it to the side of her neck and slid it across. A thin Crimson line appeared on her neck.
She pulled me onto her lap until I was pretty much straddling her. She tilted her head to the side, revealing the cut on her skin. The blood slowly trickled down her neck.
"This is going to hurt," I whispered into her ear.
"I don't care," she whispered back.
"Sorry." I licked the cut and the blood instantly flowed faster. Her blood tasted amazing. I needed more. My fangs slid down from my gums, and I greedily bit into her neck. I relished the scream of pleasure and agony that escaped her lips.
A/N Hey guys! Sorry that this has been a slow update. I've just been stuck with where to take this. Honestly I still am. If you have any suggestions whatsoever on where to take this, please comment on this chapter or future chapters. Thank you! Love you all! Mwah! 💋
