In 2019,two years after the Desperodo events, the U.S along with a few other countries started to crack down on citizens with cybernetic enhancements. The normal citizen population lived in fear of cyborgs that roamed the streets after the government released a news story about terrorist groups, gangs, and crime syndicates that had many cyborgs within their pacts that made its way to TVs and newspapers. Later that year,President Lowry passed a bill, ordering the expulsion of cyborgs, whether it be by forced re-location or death.
Families with cyborgs within them turned against their own relatives, torn on the decision of reporting, killing, or hiding their cybernetic bloodline. Some reported the cyborgs, getting rewarded handsomely by the government after the fact. Others chose a more non-peaceful route, killing the cyborgs on the spot any way they could;they were deemed  as heroes and got many metals of honor, given to them by the president, himself.
As for the few kind-hearted people, they were well hidden for a while, but not for long. They all were found, eventually.
The cyborg, along with his or her family, was put to death by firing squad.
  …They all were found,except me

For me,well,my story isn't as cut 'n' dry,rather…... .it's the exact opposite.
-------------------------------------------

I was 28 years-old when this all started. I lived with my mom, dad, and my 15 year-old sister,Shawna. My father was an Army veteran that had his body extremely damaged in car bomb during his service in Afghanistan, causing him to receive cyborg enhancements so he could walk. My mother, despite the big change, continued to stay loyal to him, until the day of September 28,2019--the day when Lowry passed the bill.
A warning ran across the TV screen, telling people around the country to report or use lethal force against cyborgs,to spread the word, and explained why cyborgs are dangerous. My mother complied to the government's persuasion and went to the gun safe, grabbed a Remington rife and its ammunition before loading the gun. And,before I knew what was happening, mother took the gun off safety, aimed for father, sucked in a steady breath, and pulled the trigger as my father crumpled to the ground. I got on my knees, cradling my dying father as his crimson blood began to soak my clothes.

"Father,hold on,hold on!"I told him."I'll get you to a hospital,just please!Please don't die on me now!"

He places his hand on my cheek."Such a sweet,kind-hearted girl you are,[Y/n]," he said."But,don't you know that no hospitals will help me,not anymore."

"Father, please …,"whispering,as I fought back the tears that began to form.

"There's nothing you can do for me,but promise me something…"

"What?"

"Are you kind?" He asked.

"Yes,"I answered.

"Brave?"

"Yeah,just…just like you."

"Intelligent?"

"Mm-hm."

"Finally, are you willing to fight for ideas and people who deserve it?"

"Of course,"I said."What are these questions for?"

"You need to be and do these things for my promise,"he said."[Y/n],you're kind-hearted,courageous,intelligent,and willing to fight--the traits of a powerful leader. I want you to be the heart of the cyborgs, the one thing that brings them together. I want you to fight, care, and protect them because now,it's bound to be our darkest hour and you're the light that will help them when no one else will. Can you do that?"
