Amelia's POV:
I woke up on the floor of the house I rented, a little confused. It was just at sunset when I looked out the window.
I walked over to my computer to put some music on but the music would not come out.
I checked the speakers multiply times but to no progress and decided I would have to go to Best Buy and get some new ones in the morning.
I then made myself a hot pocket and grabbed the book I had been reading from the local library, The Great Gatsby. I read the words "The 'death car' as the newspapers called it, didn't stop; it came out of the gathering darkness, wavered tragically for a moment, and then disappeared around the next bend." that was it, Myrtle was dead, just like my parents. The car didn't stop in the Great Gatsby and it didn't in real life either. I closed the book and sat there on my couch and let myself break down, for what I promised will be the last time in a while.
---
I woke up on the couch to the alarm on my phone, I had to work today and I didn't want to be late. I made breakfast and hopped in the shower, preparing for a new day. I decided that I had to begin to move on somewhere so why not today?
I pulled on some yoga pants capris, sandals, and a plain yellow shirt that came off one of my shoulders as I fishtailed my hair and put a hard head band on, wanting to look comfy but in the best way possible. After putting in some silvered flower earrings and running the mascara stick over my eyelashes, I headed out the door, already feeling better about everything. I passed a picture of my parents on the wall, giving them I quick "I love you" before heading out to the daycare only two blocks away.
I loved working at the daycare because the youthful presence felt as soon as I walked through the door. My boss, Patricia greeted me as I walked in, holding a two-year-old boy I have come to know as Riley. He had brown eyes and light brown hair, just like his mother whom I had just saw drive off.
I started off my day by washing my hands and playing hide and go seek around the daycare with several children ages 2-4 until all the kids were present.
When all kids were accounted for, Patricia, Destiny(our co-worker), and I began setting up for finger painting.
Keilani, a 4 year old asked me to paint with her and of course I said yes, considering she was one of my favourites with light green eyes and curly blonde hair.
Just as I finished up my painting of a pink flower I heard the bells on the door ring, indicating someone had walked in and there stood a man about my age with blonde hair and brown eyes. His muscles showed through his tank top and he wore jeans and sandals, the usual LA style.
"Sorry I'm late Aunt Trish," the mystery man said.
"Don't let it happen again. I should fire you already even if it is your first day and you're kin to me," said Patricia sternly.
"Destiny, Amelia, this is my nephew, Jared, he will be working here now. He just moved from Los Angeles. Let me show you around really quick."
So, he is hot and good with kids? And from LA?
He is definitely a keeper.
"Mel are you even listening to me?" I heard Destiny say.
"No I zoned out, what did you say?"
"I said he is really cute."
"Yeah, why do you think I was zoned out?" I remarked while smirking at my co-worker.
---
Just after six, all the kids had gotten picked up so I grabbed my things and just as I was headed out the door I heard Jared's voice say, "It was nice to meet you Amelia, see you tomorrow."
"Yeah you too," I said while mopping up my melted heart.
God, Mel, you just met him, no need to start planning the wedding.
I walked two more blocks away from my apartment home to Best Buy to get the speakers I needed for my apartment and as soon as I walked in I regretted coming.
The man with the mop of curly hair could be seen helping customers.
Hold your tongue, Mel.
I started walking over to where I thought the speakers would be when I felt someone behind me.
I turned and who would of guessed it. There was Mop Boy.
"Do you need help finding anything?" he coolly asked.
"Um, do you guys have any Advil?"
Realisation hit him and he almost yelled,"You're the one who ran into me."
As I sized him up, I noticed a name tag pinned to the left shoulder of his blue Best Buy shirt.
"I think I can find everything on my own then, thank you," I said in the most sarcastic tone I could muster.
After quickly finding the speakers, I hurried to the cash register and then out the door, hoping not to see the curly-headed man with "Harry" on his name tag.
Niall's POV:
I didn't have a job. For a year I have just been using the money that was left behind from my parents. I know it was selfish of me but I didn't know what else to do. I decided to ask Mary about getting a job at the library so I walked over there on a chilly afternoon.
"Hey...Mary!" I called while walking through the doors of the smallish library.
"I'm back here!" my dear friend called as I slowly made my way to her office, nervous to ask more of the old lady I have come to know.
"Can we talk about something?" I asked and she smiled knowingly and replied," Of course you can work here." Well that was easy.
"How did you know?"
"I know my boy well enough now."
"So when do I start?" I questioned, not being able to read Mary as well as she could read me.AN: hi guys I'm casey ok bye
