Chap. 9: Bonding.... Again.

Sora's Pov.

Its been an entire week since everything turned upside down.
But slowly things are turning back around.

Treena was amazing. She had listened to everything I had to say. From my drunken stupor , to me realizing I was pregnant and up to when she came.

Of course she was hurt, and a bit angry, but there was something else that got me wondering. She wasn't shocked. Or surprised. I had to ask why. And I got the answer of a life time.

FLASHBACK

My forehead creased in confusion. I had told Treena everything. Including me getting pregnant.

But , she didnt look surprised. Or shocked. Or angry even. Granted I was happy that she didnt have an outburst and hate me, it also got me wondering.
Its almost like she knew beforehand and was just confirming.

It had me confused. So I asked.

"Treena? You-you dont look surprised or anything? Just like , I don't know ,? " I said a bit frustrated cause I couldn't word out what I wanted to say at the moment.

She seemed to understand though. Because she froze.

And then an almost guilty look crossed her face.

I was even more confused.

She looked at me. Her light green eyes showing a defeated look.

"I, I knew that you slept with Caine. Or atleast I suspected it. " she said quietly.

My head reeled in shock. "W-what? How?? "

She sighed again and looked down to her hands.

"I came home that morning. I wanted to surprise you both but when I got home, you weren't there. I assumed you slept over by Hayton because I knew you didn't like staying in the house for yourself. So I didn't bother calling you. Instead I went over to Caine's. And well, I have a spare key so I entered. And then , " she took a deep breath.

"And then you saw us sleeping in his bed" I finished in shock.

That's right. That!! I forgot all about it. I had awoken to a door closing. With it being me and Caine I should have thought something more of it. It could have been the wind but Caine's home was AC'd.

That was Treena!! It took a moment for it to sink in. So she knew all this time.

"I , didn't think that I would be able to handle everything the right way without one of us regretting something we said. So I left. And took the time to sort out my feelings. " she finished.

That's also true. The same day she had sent an email saying her work overlapped. I sighed. This was all so tied up.

"And me getting pregnant? " I asked timidly.

"Oh, I only found out today. Caine told me when we went to talk. " she said calmly.

"Your not mad? " I asked incredulously.

She sighed and then looked me with a small smile.

"As I said Sora, I had time to think about this. Rationally too. Of course you being pregnant was a big shock but, it is what it is. And I won't be angry with you for something that can't be undone. " she said sweetly.

"Plus!! " she added brightly, "I've always wanted to be an aunt, and you and Caine's baby will look soooooooo cute " she said dreamily.

END OF FLASHBACK

So that was that. We slowly started to openly talk and make jokes about the little bean in my tummy. Caine came around often to check up on me and update me on school. You could sense the tension between him and Treena though. I don't know what they talked about but I was pretty sure they wouldn't be able to continue they're relationship.
