"oh wow, you're getting very good Kadence."
"Heh.. thanks Luise." Kadence said as he continued to fight his sister. Over the past 9 years, Kadence had grown a love for sword fighting and aspired to be a guard in a large village. He trains with his sister Casey. They were in the middle of a sword fight. Luise would only let them train with hand crafted wooden swords. Casey had the better sword, as she took her time and Kadence rushed. Yet Kadence was the better fighter, as he had a talent for it.

Kadence knocked Casey over as she fell on the ground, defeated.
"Kadence! What the heck!?"
"It's your fault for being bad."
"Okay, but you're not supposed to push me!"
"You had it coming! Your technique was off!"
"Stop!" Yelled Luise. Over the next 9 years, Luise had gotten older, and walked with a cane. "*Sigh* you two never stop fighting..."
"Sorry Luise," Casey apologized.
They helped her up and Casey walked her home. Kadence stayed behind to practice more.

That night before Casey was going to bed Kadence came into her room.
"Uh, hey Casey. Can I talk to you?"
"Oh, sure, what's wrong?"
Kadence sat down with her. "Well, I was thinking... I've been training for years, I mean, I've gotten really good. So.. I was thinking, maybe it's time I leave."
"L-Leave? What do you mean..?"
"Well.. leave to find a village, to guard for. If I'm lucky, I could find a big one.. I mean what if I got into Lothric?!" That would be amazing!"
"What!? You can't leave! Kadence we need you! You can't leave."
"Casey, please. I can't stay here forever. I have to leave at some point!"
"But what about Luise? She'll be devastated. You can't leave. I can't take care of her by myself!"
"*Sigh*... Fine. I'll stay.."
"Good. Now go to bed."
Casey began to worry about her brother. What if he did leave? How dare he be so selfish. She was furious.

The next morning while they were at the table eating breakfast the twins didn't even speak.
"What's going on with you two? You're acting weird."
"...Nothing." Casey said as she sent an evil glare to Kadence.
"She's mad at me because I wanted to Le-" Casey had jump across the table to cover his mouth before he said anymore.
"Uh... Heh.. he means, he wanted to leave.. for the day! To uh.. go down the forbidden path! Right Kadence?"
"Uh.. Y-Yeah! I thought I'd try to explore it.." Kadence and Casey sent nervous glares to each other.
"What? No! You may never go down that path! It's dangerous. Like I've told you, that path contains dangerous plants that can change the body."
Just then, Casey remembered accedentally wondering down that path when she was 7 and touching one of those plants.
"Uh.. um... W-What kind of things...?"
"Oh, well they are rumored to give people powers unthinkable. One man sprouted wings after touching one. But the effects never show up until 8-10 years later."
Casey had touched the plant 9 years ago. Now she was 16 and hasn't gotten any symptoms accept the back aches she would get. Would she grow wings? How was that even possible?
"Uh.. I don't feel good." Casey said as she ran to her room. Once she arrived she locked her door.
'What will happen!? Will I have to run away?' She thought to herself. She was sat on the floor crying when she noticed flowers started to sprout out of the ground.
"What the....?" When she touched them they grew even faster.
"AH! What's happening!?" She looked around her room as plants began to grow out of every corner and crevice. Casey, wondering if it was her, looked into the mirror as she saw wings growing out of her back.
