The silent second of my dad's breathing into the phone and my recollecting it was the lonest second of my life. Niall grabbed my hand, rubbing his calloused thumb over the smooth back of mine.

"Gypsy?" my dad asked again.

"I'm here." I said trying to decide how I should approach this. I could either fake enthusiasm, or I could give the cold shoulder. I liked the cold shoulder idea.

"How, how are you?" he asked trying to sound emotional. He probably wanted me to feel sorry for him.

"Fine." I snapped. Niall pointed to the phone mouthing, 'speaker'. Given the silence that followed I guessed he wanted me to ask about him and the skank.

"What about you?" I managed to grit out as Niall left the room.

"We're good." there it was. He couldn't be good ,they had to be good. They were part of him, a part that I wasn't. It was my turn to be silent. Niall returned with a stack of paper and a thick black marker. Sitting across he uncapped the top. I heard a sigh on the line. "Do you want to meet up? I think this is something that is better discussed in person."

I opened my mouth ready to say something smart, but paused as I saw Niall hold up a sheet: Yeah, that's a good idea. Where? "Yeah that's a good idea, where?" I repeated rolling my eyes.

"Why not come to our house?" my father asked. Niall quickly scribbled something down, Okay, what's the address?

"Okay, what's the address?" I wrote down what my father told me along with the time, and gave a curt 'goodbye' before clicking the phone. I rose and walked to my bed, flopping down on it. I muffled a scream into it. "Thanks for the queue cards." I mumbled.

"Didn't want ya to shut out somethin' that could be a good thing." he flopped down beside me, stretching his arm over my back. "When are we goin'?" he asked.

"Three." I said as the twins walked in.

"Gypsy?"

"you"

"going to"

"see him?" they asked.

I grunted in response. "Do you mind if we come?" I didn't, I wanted them to be with me. Due to my stress though, I muttered,

"Why don't we just have Niall bring his recorder and document the whole thing for his next novel?" I hadn't meant for it to be funny but that was how it was taken. The three boys busted up in laughter.

"Well, we'll leave you to get dressed."

As I stepped out of Niall's car, I frowned. The town house was beautiful. Was this what he wanted? Did he want a nice town home instead of our small house, in a small village? We could've given him this. Niall stepped out to the front steps, stopping for me.

"Don't you think it's odd." I said, clinging to the door frame of the car.

"Gypsy..." he warned his eyebrows furrowing.

"Niall, he gets in contact with me after he sees I'm with you."

"Gypsy, I know. But you promised him this. You can't break promises like he did."  he left the stoop and grabbed my hand dragging me to the steps. As much as I hated it, he was right.

"I hate it when your right." I grumbled.

"Well, let me be right now, then you can have the rest of our lives to prove me wrong." He  said pushing me up the stairs and in front of the door. I stared at the door. It was a nice door and it was red. "Oh for Christ's sake!" Niall exclaimed stepping out from behind me and pounding on the door. "Honestly." he muttered as the twins fell behind us.
