"Who are you?" Spider-Man crouched in front of me, his shoulders stiff.
"To some, I am a destructive fire from hell that sets their lives ablaze and turns them into ash."
"And to others?"
"A comforting flame that flickers softly and brings light to the darkness."
He pondered what I said. "And which of the two will you be to me?"
I smiled. "I'll let you decide."

Hailey Brown was not a social butterfly, which can be problematic when you have to move to a city where you do not know anyone and have to go to a new high school. Her new life in Queens was not something she looked forward to, or even wanted in the first place. But after a messy divorce between her parents, it's exactly what she gets.
She moved to an apartment building with her mom only to find out that her next door neighbor is a classmate by the name of Peter Parker. The two become friends thanks to their guardians who were deciding on baby names within five minutes of meeting. With some reluctance, the two are often left stuck together at school, mainly because they're both at the bottom of the social food chain. Hailey's feud with the popular Carter girls doesn't help with her status, and she earns the name "Recluse" after she avoids most of the school. She doesn't mind the name, it makes her think of the mysterious Spider-Man who happens to show up whenever there's trouble.
Hailey makes it her personal mission to discover the man — or boy — behind the mask, and in doing so, stumbles into more trouble than you can imagine. And who knows, maybe she stumbled into love.

I apologize if this story is contradictory to other Spider-Man comics, books, or movies.
Also, I do not own Marvel or any of its characters. The only ones I own are my own characters. This is my disclaimer :)
