I woke up to the luminous light in my face shining from the window, "I'm 19 and still can never wake up without sun in my face..." I thought getting up to shut the curtains. I quickly realized that I'm going to be leaving for my dad's today, long story short, my parents are divorced and my dad now lives in Cali with my stepmother and brother.
"Chloe darling are you up? your flight leaves in two hours you need to be ready." my mom calls out "Yes mom I'll be down in a minute" I quickly took a shower and decided to wear some comfortable track pants and a t-shirt like come on I'm going on a plane I don't need to be fancy. I put my hair in a messy bun and packed my suitcases and jogged down the stairs. "Chloe get you something to eat before you go okay?" she started to tear up again "Mom, No need to cry I'll be back soon and we'll be together again" I soothed her "Yes I know" she started to laugh, she laughs when she's trying not to cry.
I grab a banana and my suitcases to bring them to the car, not ready to say goodbye to my mom I wave and say 'I love you' and headed to the airport. The whole drive there was quiet, no music, nothing, I was sad, I didn't want to leave my mom or friends, they were the only people who kept me constantly happy I still remember my mom and I playing at the park when I was seven...
Flashback
Spring, September 13th
"mommy wait!" my seven year old self yelled, running quickly to catch my mom in a game of tag. "Oh no! Chloe's getting closer!" my mom laughed slowing down. I finally caught up to her and tagged her. "mommy you're it!" I quickly sprinted bumping my head on something hard, looking up I was startled to see a man I knew as my father. "Brian! what did I tell you about visiting when it's not your time!?" my mother screamed at him furious, I've never seen her so mad before. "I'm sorry! I just couldn't wait to see my beautiful angel Chloe" he whispered squatting down to my height. "C'mon Chloe, we're leaving." she said looking towards the house. "But mommy can I go with daddy?" I asked desperately "I'm sorry sweetheart not today, let's go and play dollies ok?" she said calmly "ok mommy"...
Flashback over...
I finally arrived at the busy Dallas airport the clouds were starting to get a bit grey like it was going to rain. I got out of the car and picked up my suit cases and purse to head to my gate. "Gate 219 now boarding, Gate 219 now boarding..." The person overhead said. I started to walk more quickly as I realized that was my flight and they were about to close the doors. " Thank God they didn't close the doors" I thought to myself. "Ticket please." the flight attendant asked, she was very beautiful a brunette with hazel eyes and a near perfect smile. "Oh yes, right here.." I gave her my ticket as she inspected to make sure it wasn't fake then pointed me to my seat. "You are in seat B22 for your trip, have a nice flight!" she was really nice too. I headed to my seat which was a by a really handsome looking boy, he had brown hair and blue eyes and quiffed hair. "Hi!" he greeted me. "Hi I'm Chloe it's nice to meet you." I said politely "Well it's nice to meet you Chloe I'm Payton" I could tell this was going to be a good flight.
