I sat there completely dumbfounded. He just spoke. Well what did you expect you said he could talk to you idiot."Don't cry, Zoey."
His words replayed and replayed over and over. I mean it worked because I did stop crying.
"Zoey?"
I snapped out of my thoughts to be back facing those green pearls. His eyebrows where scrunched with confusion, worry clouded his eyes.
"I'm fine." I said, it coming out as a whisper. I stood myself up and winced sitting myself back down.
"You really aren't though." He sat down beside me.
His voice sent shivers through me and I started to inch away from him. I can't be doing this right now. I can't get close with him, I could get him fired.
"I'm fine." I got up again and forced myself this time. I stopped myself and turned around once I reached his door. "Uhm. Thanks. For helping me."
"No problem."
With that I turned and left. I snuck back into my room trying not to wake Fiona. I climbed into bed with her and turned away from her. I'll have to talk to my mom about her living here. I can't just kick her out after this.

"Morning!" Fiona beamed over my face. She hopped out of bed and ran into my closet. "You coming to school today?"
I tried to sit up but instantly regretted doing so. My stomach and side burned with pain. I let my body go limp.
"Yeah, I don't think so." She laughed at me then came out with a pair of my shorts and my hoodie.
"Then can I borrow these for school today?" She gave me puppy dog eyes and I couldn't say no.
"Fine." I laughed. "By the way. You can stay here for a while, you know until you find a place when you get older."
"Huh?" She looked at me like I just gave her the world. "You mean it?"
"Well I'm not just gonna kick you out." She looked like a child trying to hold in their tears. Her chin tilted up and her mouth went down.
"Thank you." Her voice cracked as she came to hug me.
"Stop being a baby." I said pulling her off of me. "It will be fun."
"Yeah!" She wiped her tears away then went in my bathroom to change.
She came out looking really cute. We had the same body type so it looked good on her too.
"Okay! I'm off! See you later?" I nodded and she left me alone in my bedroom.
I sat in bed, starting to drift asleep when my door started to open slowly. His head peaked around the door slowly making me laugh. I clutched my side in pain and tried to stop.
"Sorry!" He stepped in and closed the door. "Your mom and that girl left-"
"Fiona."
"Sure Fiona. They left so I came to check on you. Now I can actually talk without worrying that I'll be fired." He sat on the edge of my bed looking over to me.
"I can't even sit up." I confessed. I shouldn't lie to the guy who is trying to help me get better.
"Want help?" I nodded and he came and helped me sit up a hand going behind my back. I looked up at him then turned away quickly blushing.
