PROLOGUE
(Adele's POV)
'Adele! Wake up, the other pack is here.' My father's voice ran through my mind, waking me from my peaceful slumber.
'I'm up...' I groaned through the link.
I got off my bed and walked quietly to my bathroom with my eyes partially closed. I splashed water on my face and looked in the mirror, my brown eyes clouding over with sleep. I instantly wished I could just lay down in my bed and sleep forever, but I know that's not an option.
'Mate is coming, mate is coming.' My wolf yipped in excitement, saying the same as the past four days.
I rolled my eyes, he'd probably be a member from the White Crest's pack, the pack that was here to discus 'pack business' with my father.
"Alpha Elijah asked for you," One of the pups said, tugging me to my father's office.
Before I could say 'thanks' to the pup, he had scurried off, leaving me in front of the door, with a howling wolf in my head.
'Calm it, wolf.' I said, groaning at the loudness
'Mate, mate, mate, mate, mate.' She stopped howling and started yipping
I growled quietly, and knocked on the door, waiting a minute before opening it and walking inside.
Smelling a delicious scent, I knew my mate was here, but I could pin-point who it was, until someone growled out 'mine'.
My eyes widened when I realized that the one growling, was being held back by three of my father's warriors.
'What are you doing? Put my mate down!' I yelled through the link at the men, yet they continued to hold him.
"Father, tell them to put him down!" I growled, my wolf coming to the surface.
"He will mark you here and now if I did as you said, and I will not let that happen." He spoke, his eyes growing dark.
"How dare you keep me from my mate?!" My mate growled, fighting against the men.
'Calm mate!' My wolf commanded, trying to take control, but I pushed her back in time.
Slowly walking closer to him, I put my hand on his cheek, and he calmed down instantly.
"Mine. You're mine." He growled lowly, his eyes changing from his wolf's, to a dark blue.
"They'll let you go if you promise not to jump me." I said, barely holding in my laugh at how that sounded.
He growled, but nodded and the men let him go. Regaining his composure, he shot a quick glare at the men.
"I'm Alpha Hunter, of the White Crest Pack." He said, smirking as he spoke his title.
