2009 was a very special year. A massive dust storm covered Sydney and made everything red. It was amazing and alot of people waited with baited breath for the next storm simply because it was harmless and beautiful. 2019 was the year everyone got their wishes. But all wishes come at a price.

5:00- Citizens awoke to see the sky red. People weep for joy, and celebrate the amazing scene. Curiously, there were no reports of a dust storm moving in the day before. Citizens begin to notice all televisions and radios are grainy or not functioning all together. Police arrest three intoxicated fishermen on public disturbance charges. One of the fishermen chants "Q'ulsi pertaggen cantatro'f'l Cthulhu fh'thagn. Q'ulsi perhagen n'cree'b'fw'l." then dies of apparent heart failure. The other two claim to have seen "a dark city rising from the sea, full of dark gods, who feast on the flesh of the dead and the minds of the pure." and "the Great Olden Gods, who seek not sacrifice nor prayer but conquest." Police request a psychiatric expert to examine the two .

6:00- Several ambulances to various parts of the city due to complaints of crippling migraines. All the people who are hospitalized are between the ages of 10 and 20 years old. Several claim to hear whispers in the back of their minds telling them to darken the streets with blood and gore. Patients display strange symptoms including bloodshot eyes, foaming at the mouth, and seizures, along with babbling. Police sent to diffuse a situation at a local church. A man and woman lunged at several people with long daggers of unknown model. The suspects are described as chanting "By split blood, by severed flesh, by this blade, Cthulhu will rise". Police shoot and kill the man, and the woman takes her own life. Several police and citizens describe the woman as turning into a skeleton upon being stabbed by the blade. Air being tested for drugs.

9:00- Frantic reports of massive shadows moving near port increase dramatically. More attacks by dagger wielding fanatics occur. Police are spread thin and a frenzy begins to set into the city. Reports of a droning noise causes panic. 3 Secondary schools evacuated due to students becoming irate and attacking teachers. Military called in. No response. Children ages 5 to 16 are fatally assaulting the adults. The hospitals that held the children no longer responding to radios. Several squads of police sent to the hospitals. Survivors send radio reports claiming that the stricken have slaughtered the doctors, nurses and other patients.

10:30- Surviving adults notice fanatics, children and young adults gathering to the port. Fanatics begin leading roving bands of followers.

12:00- All adults have been gathered into the port by the bands of children. The droning previously recorded had crescendoed into a guttural chant of an indiscernible source. The followers begin swaying back and forth behind the adults. A massive shape moves forward in the red haze and presents itself. Before the crowd stands a creature with massive wings, green scaly skin and a terrible vistage, a tentacled maw with eyes that pierce even the darkest dark. From this creature emanated waves of malignant hatred. Upon seeing the dark creature, the monstrous children and hate filled fanatics gave a cheer. The adults, however, gave a cry of terror and horror. A laugh filled the air, echoing across the sea, and was answered by even more terrible beings filing in behind the first. The presence of such pure disdain silenced all but one voice which cries, muffled by the evil thick in the air and interrupted by sobs, "why will no one help us?"

The answer was never given but learned many years later. The Great Old Ones had returned to enslave humanity and the presence of their full consciousness was enough to drive the whole world mad. The skies were not caused by dust but the coming of the Evil beings. R'lyeh had risen from the sea, the Great Old Ones had awoken, mankind has lost its reign over this world. Sydney, Australia was merely a single city, a single insignificant speck that will fall in the blink of an eye.

Eternity is a long time, but the Great Old Ones have long life times. 2 more years is merely a passing thought for us. We can wait just a little longer. We can wait. We can wait.
