School Ends: 15:20I am currently sitting in Lesson 4: Art. Well, Double Art, because next lesson is Art too. This is the best two hours of my entire week, and Ms Kym is talking about a new technique we're supposedly going to explore today. She's scribbling something on the board in her static, completely illegible handwriting.
Ms Kym is super nice. She's Korean and is surprisingly tall, with a passion for her subject and, more importantly, a tolerance for my art style. She lets me do my thing at the back of class and doesn't really mind as long as I present her with a sketchbook that's not entirely comprised of cartoons. I'll give her one relatively good still life drawing within this two-hour slot and she'll be satisfied.
Today went pretty fast. Physics, English, Maths, and now Art. The most noteworthy thing that's happened so far is the English Homework, which is to re-read the whole of Pride and Prejudice, which we studied last year. I'm not the faster reader, so this weekend is going to be fun.
Right now, I'm still working on Molly: the "sexy cat lady" from this morning (I name all the people/animals I draw). I shade in her ears and darken the lines of her nose and jaw before I hear a voice.
"Hey Dom!"
Goddammit.
Stacy.
She pouts and takes her seat - six minutes late to class, might I add - before raising an eyebrow at me. I glance at her once just to remind me of her ridiculous face: the perfect eyebrows, the dip-dyed hair, the eyeliner, the fake lashes, and the smug, smug look on her face. I'm getting bitch-vibes and she hasn't even started talking yet.
Fun Fact! Did you know that 'backpfeifengesicht' is a German word that roughly translates to 'a face that's begging to be slapped'?
Well, it's a pretty good way to describe Stacy's face right now.
"Dominic? You gonna answer me...?"
I sigh. "Nope."
She clicks her tongue, muttering "So rude" before pushing off her chair and leaving.
Art flies by. I finish Molly, and draw Sasha (a female face), Baku (a fish) and Flynn (a guy with a mask that says 'Knowledge is Power'), plus a pear for Ms Kym. The bell goes, I pack my bag, I say goodbye to Xander - Marco already left - and walk out the school gates.
Another uneventful day draws to a close.
