The fury, the agony, the pain came back to me all at once. Especially after I'd been through, Mia should know. But no.

The way she'd wave her hand at Jack whenever he's around, her smile, her outfit.

It all connects to this.

As I watched from afar, I could clearly see the flirting between them. Not just from Mia but also from Jack. His lips curled up into a smile that I thought he only reserved for me. His face lit up a she said something that made them both crack up.

The act only couples do.

Guess I was right. There was someone else. Another girl. Another person that stole his heart. That only I thought belonged to me.

The reality came to me so fast I stumbled back.

My heart slowly shattered as he brushed away a stray hair from her face as he stared at her lovingly. A look that was supposed to be for me.

And that's when my heart shattered. All pieces of it are gone. Only traces of what it used to be were all just memories. All in the past. Long gone.

Forgotten.

Just like me and Jack.

I looked away, unable to see anymore. I walked to my first period, head low and sat at my usual table. And the whispers started all over again.

"May I present to you all, Xavier Daniels, our new student. Please treat him with respect and kindness. Please take a seat next to Emmeline over there, will you?" Ms. Durover, our vice principal said.

I barely registered the words as I felt a presence next to me. Already having a bad day, I decided to ignore him and looked at the teacher.

"Well hello there. Emmeline, right?" The new student, Xander I think, whispered as class began.

I nodded mutely and stared straight at the teacher, trying to focus.

As silence hung between us he suddenly poked me at my side, causing a yelp from me. The class went silent as all eyes stared at what happened.

"Is there something wrong, Miss Feller?" The teacher asked, raising an eyebrow at me. I looked in horror as some of my peers snickered. I shook my head and put my head down.

Great, another humiliation to face. Now, I would probably go to being the most popular to being an outcast. Just great.

Class continued on, not another word from Xander, thinking maybe he felt sorry for the action he did. But when I sneaked a glance towards him, I saw the strain of his lips that I was pretty sure he was holding back a smile.

Okay, wow. So he did meant to do that. What did I do to him? Let's see. There's only one possible asnwer.

Nothing.

But as I sneaked another glance at him our eyes connected and I felt something really weird. Not knowing what it was, I looked away, quickly.

And that's when I began to smirk, my head already thinking of a plan.
