Strong language will be used. There are some vulgar and derogatory words here so I do apologize. I hope this does not bother you. This is for the story line.
For reference
Up/Toop/Theep/Forp Is the cadence it is the tempo the cadet marches in (1/2/3/4) always step off the left foot. Sometimes it is called as Eft-Eft/Eft/Ight-Ight-Eft as in Left-left/left/right-right-left
Ight-Ace or Eff-Ace is right/left face. Meaning the cadet is at attention and is given the command to turn left or right.
Fo-ward-Arch is forward march meaning at attention the cadet marches facing forwards.
Flight Halt meaning to stop
Eft/Ight-Flank-Arch is left/right flank. The cadet is already marching and is making a swift facing movement still marching to the command.
Ten-HUH is to be called to attention its the way it must be emphasized and enunciated that makes it sound funny.
(I will leave a link to a drill video so you can hear what they sound like)
this is a good video although the cadence was being sung it shows a rough out line of what I am trying to show you. (Again I do not own this video)
YN had been trained, refined, and disciplined. A tough yet caring although she was a soldier she had a kind heart. She had graduated high school and joined the marines. After MEPS and taking the oath she was set over seas over the course of a year and a half back and forth between countries and going home. She was sent to Italy, and was there for about 9 months and two weeks.
"GET UP YOU HAVE TEN MINUTES TO BE IN FORMATION!!" The DI (drill instructor) had yelled at the top of his lungs at 0400 (4am) YN woke up by instinct prior to the DI yelling. Rushing to put on her olive green skittles (a tshirt with a specific color that shows what flight you are in.) along with the matching baseball cap provided. "MOVE MOVE MOVE!" The DI Gills had been yelling in the dorms. First in line was YN ready to follow orders. -Damnit why am I still here.....I could have been at home doing a my dream job- Her thoughts interrupted by a command, "FLIGHT FALL IN" the rookies had formed behind and along side her. "TEN-HUH" Gills yelled. He called the flight to attention. "Today starts a new week and it is a new routine! We meet with the other flights as usual. But we are selecting a hand full of you to be stepped up to higher training. All privates are under normal schedule. E-2s to E-7s are being selected to train and study in another program. The rest well, already have nice jobs. Those selected move to the desert. So good luck." Gills yelled with a faint smile and the slightest look of concern on his face. He sent the flight to the others in the courtyard. YN marched off leading the flight very orderly to the designated area. "Lance Corporal (Lncp) LN bring the flight at ease. With a loud voice YN huffed out the command sending chills to the rookies in the flight.
During the day there were warrant officers and E-9s taking personnel aside and sending them on the trucks off the base.
Around the time when it was field hour YN was kicking hard. She had been kick boxing taking down her opponents with ease. "Hey LN how about you get some water I can't have you passing out on me." Her friend an E-2, Alexis, had tossed her a water bottle,"You are doing significantly better progress than a few months ago." He said smiling at her. Alexis was her buddy, meaning they had to stick together for safety but only during training, he was a friend from high school. "Thanks." Taking the whole bottle down she faced him,"So do you know what the hell they are taking the others? A part of me tells me that I shouldn't get involved." He looked at her puzzled,"I don't know either. Mays over there says he heard an officer mention SHEILD but to be honest I would rather be down here." YN nodded her head in agreement.
Training hour was still in session, YN and Alexis had begun jogging around the track until an officer had stepped in front of them. "I want the both of you to join my team. We work along side SHEILD and I see potential in you two. I can arrange for you to stay in the same flight as well as assure your safety and studies." He was tall and built, the black and white uniform suited him well. "If you follow me I will lead you to the truck. There you will be given further instructions. My name is Major (Maj) Salazar if you need anything ask me." Walking towards the truck both Alexis and YN were questioning what was going on. Other familiar faces were there too. "Oh good christ....." an E-2 was sighing looking at Alexis. "Why the hell would they choose you." He spat at him. "Shut the fuck up Trey before I come down there and rip your throat." YN hissed. "Ooo look at missy here shes being the loyal bitch she is!" He stood up making the others gasp. Alexis was furious,"Back up. You have no need to start shit." He huffed out. YN clenched her fists. "Trey one more step and I will knock you the fuck out! Back the fuck up!" She yelled. Causing the truck to stop. Maj Salazar had opened the window,"Trey who ever the fuck you are sit the fuck down and leave the lady alone. I chose you all for a reason do NOT make me throw you out. Please if you will sit Lncp LN as well as your buddy there. If I have to, I will demote anyone for disrespect. Trey you got strike one." He shut the window and the truck started to move again. YN and Trey were now in a battle with being in eye contact. Alexis had to keep her distracted before she could snap.
The truck stopped at an air port where there were armored planes. Everyone stepped out forming in to an orderly line holding on to their beloved rifle. "We are going to the Sahara to train for 8 months. There you will return home after a month you will be selected to work and train with SHEILD. Well from there you will be given further instructions at the moment thats all you need to know.
There were a total of 156 people chosen. It was hot, dry, and the air was practically just sand.
