"Bye Brynn!" my best friend, Kenzie, basically screamed as I got in my mom's car. I smiled and waved back.

Me and Kenzie were basically, I guess you could say, "the popular girls in school". Teachers always complain to us about how we exclude people, but we just made a name for ourselves. The other girls just exclude themselves.

When we got home, I was surprised to see Dad's car parked in the garage. He  doesn't ever get home before six, and even then it's usually a lot later.

"Why is Dad home so early?" I asked.

"He... Wasn't feeling well today," Mom said, hesitantly. We got out of the car.

"Is he okay?"

"Yeah, he was just nauceous."

It seemed like she was trying to change the subject, so I decided to stop talking about it. Maybe it made her upset to see Dad sick?

I went upstairs to my bedroom, immediately starting on homework. I assumed Dad was probably in the bedroom and if he was sick, he would be sleeping most likely. I don't want to bother him when he's sick.
