GLIMPSE OF THE FUTURE❝ H O L D O N T O M E ❞
10 letters.
❝ I L O V E Y O U ❞
8 letters, 3 words.
Those are the words that kept replaying in her mind like some sick and twisted lullaby from a childhood someone had to give up just to make sure she had one.
Her breath came in short, and dots fogged her vision into a blurry oblivion. After a few blinks, her eyes focused like an out of date pair of camera lenses. Faces in a mass peered in, wondering if she was dead or alive.
❝Hang in, we're almost there.❞
Nothing made sense, but the voice that called to her felt so familiar. As hands dug into her flesh, she felt afloat like a ghost. Except she was no longer pretending to ghost drifting down halls of different venues.
Everyone had always noticed her, and now all eyes were on her, and she knew it too. Her soul felt like it was being sucked out into a reaper's hands that coaxed her in with his gentle caress, but still, waiting felt painful.
Time felt painful.
Time felt like it was over, and present to take her away until bright lights ignited sense.More than sense, purpose and a steadier pulse.
Despite the sharp pain, her mind could only focus on the white walls of a hospital as she was rushed down on a gurney. ❝I hate hospitals.❞ The demons of rage whispered as she once again lost sight to the fluorescent dots in her vision. ❝Hang in, we're almost there.❞ A tight hand firmly squeezed in reassurance.
❝ALMOST❞
She almost made it.
She almost finished.
She almost made history.
❝SHE'S FADING!❞ A doctor cried out as two hands then tightly cupped her face. Even in what might have been her final moments on Earth could she not escape harshness. No gentleness for her, ever— or so it seemed.
❝HOLD ON TIGHT.❞
Three words, 11 letters.
WHEN THE GRIM REAPER was only granting her a permanent means of disappearing, those t h r e e w o r d s were enough to keep her in a fight against life and death.
