◤ I MISS HIM TOO◥

❝C O L-
The car jolted forward, and it awakened Thea from her conflicting dreams. Adjusting the seat-belt away from scratching against her throat, she blinked in bewilderment.
It wasn't the sudden brake before a red light that scared her, it was her dreams. ❝Cold.❞ She clarified to Renee that glanced back at her from the driver's seat with concern. Next to Thea, Joe offered his puffy jacket that she eagerly took with an appreciative smile that still didn't drive a pair of blue eyes away from her.
Jon's glance was agonizing only because Thea could tell that he knew what she meant to say. What she had really meant to say, was his name.
Colby,
Colby,
Colby.
As if testing her patience that was wearing thin, Jon had even dared to fumble with his phone until a familiar melody played. ❝I didn't know you liked A Day to Remember.❞ Renee had then beamed as Jon shifted his eyes back on the road.
Despite his eyes being elsewhere, Thea could perfectly make out the way his hands tightly tripped onto the steering wheel. He was testing her, and she would have to convincingly lie to stay off his radar.
Deceit wasn't something she favored, but did excel in. Thea never meant to lie to anyone, especially those closest to her ... but sometimes she just had to keep some things to herself.
❝It's Thea's favorite band.❞ Jon had admitted. Although his tone was low and gravelly, something about it felt bitter. So bitter that it prompted Thea to shoot back with some dirt of her own. ❝No, it's not. That's Colby's.❞
Just like that, the car came to another abrupt stop. This time around, it wasn't because of a stop light. Stopping at a hotel parking lot, everyone's breath suddenly felt so damn loud.
From the passenger seat, Renee avoided eye contact and still, Thea noticed the way her shoulders tensed. Roman cleared his throat, trying to mind his own business but unable to glance back and forth between Jon and Thea.
A smirk spread through Jon's face as he adjusted the rear-view mirror and glared directly at her.
❝
YOU TWO HAVE SO MANY
SIMILARITIES THAT I SOME
TIMES FORGET WHO IS WHO.
❞As Jon placed his hand on the inside car handle, Thea shifted in her seat as she leaned in closer to him. ❝At least I can face him and move on.❞ She shot, catching a glimpse of his frown before grabbing her bag and sliding out the car.
