She was in preparation, preparation for yet another school day. Another day filled with same routine, same people, only novelty being information required to memorise.
And as always, him. The mesmerising, charming and undeniably attractive boy from the fifth desk.
His hair light brown, down to his eyes, always shining in the daylight, his face pale, yet angelic, his skin acned, yet flawless with already formed shapes of a grown man he is yet to be. His lips full and pink, as if kissed by the overflowing juices of nature, assured to never dry out, his voice angelic, soothing and relaxing, never tense and always full of care and joy.
But those gifts recieved from God himself were not the ones that continuously diverted her attention, no.
It was something way more simple, yet way more complexed at the same time.
His eyes, his chocolate brown eyes were the one that casted a spell on her - a spell she could never escape, a spell she never wanted to escape.
His eyes, sometimes so unattainable, as if carrying a great burden that must be hidden from the minds of others, but simultaneously so warm and welcoming, as if containing all the jubilance of the world.
She never forgot to admire them from her corner of the petit room they shared five days a week.
Only a couple of meters apart, yet it felt like miles stood between them - miles she will never be able to cross. She had the pleasure of meeting his curious gaze numerous times, they were, after all, classmates. Even a smile was exchanged here and there. But she kept her distance nonetheless and continued to admire his innocent beauty from afar.
She never really approached him in any way, although she wanted to.
Bad. But something continuously pushed her back,
a small particle inside of her that had grew bigger than her desire of enjoying in the pleasure of his company in person.
Fear.
Her fear did not seclude her from the rest of her peers. She feared what most people fear, two small feelings no one in this world welcomed with open arms.
She feared rejection and humiliation.
And if he shut her down, rejected her so indifferently, she would not be able to bear it.
Not now.
Not with him.
So she did what she knew best - kept her distance and admired him from apart, wishing him nothing but joy and delight.
