Winning Lure Coursing

You'll probably need a dog with a lot of energy to win this like a dalmatian, corgi, pinscher, ect.

The Lure
After you manage to finish the Junior Cup, get rid of that basic lure. If this is your first dog, then you'll have to keep using it.
Your dog is going to get faster, the basic lures won't keep up. Every other lure on the game is better. Upgrading your lure will slightly increase your dog's speed.
The basic lure is marked as the slowest and the rainbow lure is the fastest (and hardest to get). Using the Pro Lure will get you past every competition since the Master Cup (2,400 TP required).

Practice
Upgrading your lure isn't going to automatically make your dog win. When you get a new lure, practice with it. Your dog won't be so eager to chase after it at first, but once it's familiar with it, you'll start noticing it run faster.

Practice Times
When you unlock a higher cup in competitions, save your game and enter your dog. Watch the fastest dog and see when they finish.
Then, train your dog to match that speed. Once your dog finishes practice quicker than the competition dog, then enter. You'll definitely win then.

The Best Lane
This one can be tricky. Go to the gym and practice 9 times. Make sure you record the lane the dog is in (left, middle, right) and the time the dog finishes that lane.
Then, go through and average out those numbers (and the times of one lane together, divide by 3). The smallest number is the lane you want to be in.
The best lane in Nintendogs Cup is the right lane. Even the other dogs in that lane win first.

Any tips for this would be great! Thanks!
