Disc can be a little tricky. I think any dog can win it with proper training.
Speed
The dogs speed is the first thing to work on. Get a boomerang and constantly throw it (bring your dog back).
Another way is to get a disc a throw it just out of the dogs reach. This will encourage it to run faster to catch it.
Autofetch
The next thing to learn is Autofetch. This will take a while to teach, but it is well worth it when you enter the Pro, Master, and Nintendogs cups.
In order to do this, make your dog bring back anything it can pick up. Pet it before taking the object. This takes about half a month to teach (I think it takes longer using time skip).
Jumping
Items like the helicopter encourage the dog to jump. Holding the helicopter right above the dog's head will make it do that.
Any disc that it can catch well will also make it jump. If your dog has been using the same disc (pro disc, lollipop disc, ect.) for every practice time, your dog will begin trying to jump to catch the disc.
