We pulled up onto the dirt road and stopped. Brandon continued driving down and we passed a sign that said camp crystal lake. Eric turned the map upside down in confusion. "Wait, what?". We stopped next to the main lodge. We all got out and waited for Eric and Brandon to come back from getting a map. I walked to the road and kenny came up to me. "Hey, amanda". I looked at him and smiled. "Woah, you're talking to me?". He nodded and put his hands in his pocket. "Uh, yeah i guess i am". We laughed. "Whats up?". I asked. "Would you want to go swimming with us in the lake? Or something? Later?". I crossed my arms. "It depends if the water is cold". He nodded, "Well, just keep that in mind", he patted my back and said. "Later, Amanda".
I walked back to the van and everyone was waiting in boredom. Chad took off his sweater that was tied around his neck, placed on his chest. He caught me looking at him. I rolled my eyes and sat on the ground with A.j. She covered her face. "Whats wrong?". I asked. She removed her hands and had her eyes closed. "Do you not feel the heat?". I nodded. "Smart, but you aren't wearing light colors, you're wearing, well. Death". Vanessa Said. A.j rolled her eyes. I got up and started walking the dirt road kicking a rock. Chad yelled, "LaChappa! let's go. Or we're leaving without you two". Brandon looked at him. "Wait, man". Chad threw his sweater at tiffany, "Hold this for me?". She held it and smiled. "Sure, babe". Jenny raised her eyebrows.
Chad caught up to me. "Hey, weird-". I looked at him. He cleared his throat, "Hey. amanda". He held the back of his neck. "You can't get so angry everytime we say that". I stopped. "You can't say it like it's nothing, Ched". He sighed. "Don't call me Ched, you know i don't like that". I shrugged. "Quit calling me weird girl, and then your wish is most certainly granted". We looked at each other. "What?', i asked. He shook his head. "N- Nothing". I looked him up and down. "So, your dad owns part of the lake?". He nodded. "My, 'papa', as i consider. He's rich, along with my mother. I love my mother". I smiled, "Mama's boy?". He looked at me. "N- no, of course not". I nodded. He put his arm around me. I looked around uncomfortably. "You know i always did like you, but you were..". I nodded. "Weird". He laughed, "Yes that's the word i was looking for". Tiffany came running up to us, and pulled him from me, and kissed him. "Oh, hey. Amanda". She acted like i wasn't there. I smiled and walked away. Chad turned around with her. "Catch you later sweets!". Tiffany laughed, hogging him up. It doesn't bother me. I don't like chad anyways.
Brandon and eric walked back. "Up this road", brandon said. Eric smiled. "Hey you do know how to look at a map". Brandon gave him a dirty look, "Funny, nerd". Brandon Called for Tiffany and Chad. They came back and got their bags. "We'll walk, we would like to spend time together". Vanessa rolled her eyes, "get some help guys". They laughed. "He'll help", tiffany smiled. We all groaned. They walked up the dirt road and we all got in the van.
We drove up to a cabin. I looked out the window and slid open the door and got out. Kenny got out right after me and went to the back and opened the trunk. "Which one is yours?". I smiled. "The red one". He pulled out my suitcase and pulled out the handle and held it to me. "Thank you". He smiled. "Anything for you". I turned around and waited with jenny. Tiffany and chad were yelling. I started walking to where i heard the screams. "The lake", i whispered. I ran to the lake, and brandon was with me. They were in the lake. "Oh, Screw you guys!". Chad was holding her and she yelled. "Come in amanda!". I shook my head, Brandon nudged me. "Hey? It is kind of hot. You don't want to get a heat stroke". I hit his arm. "Ow! Man what was that for?". I stormed away. "Them, kenny, now you!?".
I walked back to the van and got my suitcase and dragged it to the cabin and walked in.
