Sorry for such a late update! Writers block decided to rear its ugly head! Ill try to post two chapters this week to make up for it!
---------
J was a very brave boy, little to nothing ever scared him, so much so that he would personally crown himself the least fearful out of his fifteen companions.

That being said, when something did scare him, it came full force.

Which is why, at this very moment J is clutching his bed covers tightly to his chest as he watches strikes of lighting light up his hotel room. It wasn't the lightening that was the problem, it was the roof rattling thunder that came next. The lightning was only a warning for what was to come but even that wasn't good enough.

--------

The clap of thunder shook the skies and sent J to the ceiling. He hated thunder, hated it more than anything in the world. The way it came without warning, the way it rattled the windows and darkened the room.

J needed help, he needed someone or something or he wouldn't make it through the night.

The closest option was Dorian, but Dorian hated being woken up plus, J knew for sure Dorian would poke fun at him. Devin snored, and Marcus took up all the space in the bed. J went through a rolodex of all the members and all the pros and cons.

Through his analysis he found that Miles was the best choice for this. Pros, Miles was the best cuddler and seemed to produce the most warmth whilst sleeping, and he wouldn't poke (too much) fun at J for his reasons of being in his room.

Cons, his room was almost at the end of the hall, and there is a very likely chance his door is locked.

J felt he had no other option but to take that chance. With all the courage he could muster, J pried himself out of the cloudy cover and raced across the room to his door.

He quickly unlocked and dashed into the hall. Lucky for him the halls had no windows so he didn't have to contend with running through lightning.

He ran as quickly as he could down the hall.

He skid to a full stop in front of Miles door, with a small prayer, he twisting the doorknob and relished in the click of the door opening.

J slowly stepped into the room, shutting the door softly behind him. He tiptoed up to the side of the bed and slowly reached his hand out to shake Miles.

“Miles?..” He whispered softly.

As he shook to try and wake up the older boy a strike of lightning lit up the sky and room.

J has been through these long enough to know what that means.

Before J had a chance to react, the thunder shook the room and ran up his spine

J screamed and ducked down next to the bed tucking his head tightly between his knees.

His scream woke Miles with a jolt and gasp.

Miles sat up quickly in his bed, he let his eyes quickly adjust to the darkness as he scanned the room. The small light of the street illuminated the room enough for Miles to make out a tuft of hair peeking out by the side of his bed.

Frowning Miles scooted to the end of the bed and softly patted the tuft.

J jumped and his head shot up. His emerald eyes were blown wide with fear.

“J?...What are you doing here?” Miles whispered.

J felt like he was gonna cry, “The thunder…” he squeaked out “I don't like the thunder….”

Miles features softened and he threaded his fingers through the younger boys hair. “Come on up here” Miles whispered, moving away from the edge so J could climb up.

J scrambled and climbed up onto the bed. He latched onto Miles with a hug and buried his face in the boy's shoulder. Miles chuckled and pulled him close and under the covers making sure the covers were up close to J’s head to shield him from the oncoming lightning and

muffle the sound.

J curled up against Miles chest, quickly inhaling and exhaling to calm his nerves.

“You okay baby boy?” Miles asked against J’s hair. Miles felt J nod against his chest.

“You scared me there, i thought you were a gremlin”

J laughed quietly “Sorry”.

The room fell into a comfortable silence, J was just drifting into sleep when a clap of thunder jolted him harshly awake.

A small whimper slipped past his lips, and he tried his best to move as close to Miles as possible.

Miles wrapped his arms tightly around J and rubbing a soothing hand up and down his back. “Its okay baby boy, you're okay”

--------------

The tension slowly faded from J’s body and soon his breathing evened out.

The slow rise and fall of Miles chest and the soft sound of his breathing helped lul J into a peaceful sleep.

---------

Miles didn't sleep right away, he stayed alert to make sure no thunder disturbed J.

Peeling down the cover Miles peaked at J’s soft sleeping face. He ran his thumb over the younger boys cheek and placed a kiss to the boy's hairline.

“I've got you babe….i've got you”
