Running Away

The wives and I were currently hiding in a secret hiding department in the war rig, which was currently being driven by Furiosa. Apparently we were going out to get 'some more gas' but Furiosa was going to take us to the Green Place of Many Mothers. We didn't actually know where it was, but we're going to search for it anyways. I quietly sat beside Cheedo, she was one of the youngest wives, but she was older than me. She was like an older sister to me, while the rest of the wives were like my mother, I don't really know Furiosa that much, but I can tell she's nice. I was shaking my leg a little nervously, Cheedo noticed and placed a comforting hand on my leg to make it stop shaking, which it did. I slightly smiled at her and she smiled back reassuringly. "Do you guys really think we'll make it to the Green Place?" Splendid looked at me and smiled a bit. "Of course, we know it's out there somewhere." She spoke softly to me. I nodded once more and rested my head on Cheedo's shoulder. She laid her head against mine and hummed softly to me.

"You guys might want to shut up, or people will hear you." I heard Furiosa mumble to us. Cheedo stopped humming and I nervously played with my hair. I felt the war rig jerk forward, we were finally moving now. I sighed in relief. I heard people outside still fighting for water, I felt pity and sadness for the people who had barely enough food, water, and shelter. I wish there was a way to stop it, but Immortan Joe was foul and cruel to them. My thoughts were interrupted when we were jerked to the side. I realized the shouting was no more. We were heading east already? Man, I had been out of this world for awhile. I heard Furiosa yell at the other war boys that they were heading east. I heard one of the henchmen yell 'Buzzards!'. What the hell were Buzzards?! The rig jerked around a bit more, and I muffled a whimper in my mouth. I heard loud explosions and yelling. The hell was happening out there?! I heard loud footsteps on top of the rig and silently panicked. Splendid got up from the hidden room and shouted "We can't breathe down here!" Furiosa just shouted back to stay out of sight. Splendid grumpily went back down and huffed, it was kinda hard to breathe down here. It smelled of gas and feet, it was disgusting. I heard the wind pick up and sand hitting the war rig, that means we were possibly in a sand storm. It was a little harder to breathe down here, some sand was getting in, but not a lot. I screamed loudly when we swerved way to much and whimpered and looked at Toast, who was right next to me. She shushed me lightly and wrapped her arm around my shoulder. She kissed the top of my head which calmed my nerves a little. Please lord let me live to see another day.
