I sat cuddled up next to him as we watched the night sky. "You know I really do love you, and I don't care what I have to go through to make sure you are okay."
I had already read most of this book. There's probably about five more chapters left. I could get this back to the library today.
"Neva, do you have the answer to this equation?"
I looked up from my book.
"U-um, th-the answer i-is 14.9 s-sir."
"Correct. Neva if you pay attention more in this class that would be fantastic."
The whole class laughed at me. I just hung my head and doodled so it seemed like I was taking notes. I couldn't wait till class was over. It seemed like forever for the bell to ring. I stuffed all my things in my bag and almost sprinted to the library. I love my lunch period. A whole 30 minutes for me to get lost in a book. I walked in, greeted the librarian, Ms. Nelson, and found my way to the back corner. I opened my book. The time went by really fast, but I finished my book. I gave the book to Ms. Nelson.
"How'd you like this one?" she asked taking the book from me.
"It was okay, it just seemed a little blah you know?"
She nodded in agreement. I grabbed another book from the pile she made for me to read, and walked out of the library. I went to the rest of my classes and doodled so I wouldn't be humiliated. I waited for the last bell and walked home. I didn't live too far from school so it was a five minute walk. Not too bad. I got home and got into an old t-shirt and sweatpants. I put my hair into a messy bun as I walked into the kitchen to make myself some tea. I sat on my bed and began to read my book and drink my tea. After a few hours of reading, I got tired and went to bed. My alarm clock woke me up and I got ready for school.
I went to my first period and sat in my seat in the back corner next to the window. Not long after class had begun and I started to take notes as I actually liked this class. I started to feel someone staring at me so I looked around the room until I made eye contact with a guy a few rows away, whom I've never seen before. When I realized someone had acknowledged my existence, my eyes widened and I stared at my paper and started to doodle to make sure that I didn't make eye contact. The bell rung, and I almost sprinted out of the classroom. That is until the guy from earlier stopped me.
"Whatever it is I did I'm sorry and I don't mean any trouble," I blurted out. He chuckled.
"Okay, first of all, you didn't do anything wrong. Second of all, I wanted to see if you were free this Saturday if you wanted to hang out," he said smiling, "I'm Levi by the way."
"Oh, I'm Neva, and I'm flattered but I'd be too much of a bother." I quickly walked to my next class not giving him the chance to reply.
