Upon their arrival Sam and Dean opened the door with precaution. After seeing her they froze. Dean scanned her with his knowing eyes, going down her body with a minuscule smirk beginning to form. "Hey! Eyes front soldier!" she said harshly narrowing her eyes at him. Dean's cheeks burned a soft pink as he looked away timidly. Castiel shot him a protective and semi-jealous look. Sam on the other hand hadn't done much as he just was confused by the situation. Castiel bringing back a girl? "Um, Cas...might I have a word?" Sam asked him trying to seem as comfortable with the situation as he could. It just wasn't like Cas.
Castiel swiftly approached the two flabbergasted boys. "So is she like...Cas are you drunk!?" Dean asked with raised eyebrows. Cas frowned as he shook his head as a "no" for a reply. "We've known each other for decades." he replied matter-of-factly. Sam couldn't believe his ears, letting out a chuckle of disbelief. Castiel slowly turned his head to Sam glaring at him. "Do you think it's funny? Or that an angel could love somebody? Is that /funny/ to you?" he said harshly. The boys weren't as open armed to Paris as he thought they would be. Sam felt defensive. "No, I just meant...you never mentioned her..." What Sam said was true he never did. The pain of her memory had hurt him. As before they reunited approximately four years back, before that they hadn't seen each other for decades. Though when they did on those rare memorable days, it was if they had never parted. He shook the thought reassessing the situation trying to see what exactly the Winchester boys weren't comprehending. He took a deep semi nervous breath. "She is my soul mate. You will treat her with utter most respect. Do I make myself perfectly clear?" he said harshly. They nodded perfectly certain this wasn't something to tease him about. Sam looked at the girl with the big blue eyes and pink hair with curiosity gleaming in his ever changing eyes. She looked back shyly, her eyes always a warm and friendly soft blue colour. She tilted her head to the side as she read him like a book. It was a quality that came easily for her. Considering the years and years she was watching over humanity entirely she picked up a few handy traits here and there.
"Hello, I'm Paris. I'm a fallen angel just like Castiel." she told them in her kindest voice. "We were together until just before world war two." she said solemnly. She hated thinking of that gloomy heart wrenching day. She remembered every single moment, as they came back to haunt her on a regular basis. It was January 1945 and the early signs of WWII began to show and become noticeable. It started off as a normal day, grim and colder than most of the others. They had planned on staying with each other for an eternity. Correction, make that plural. An eternity of loving wasn't long enough for the two of them. That was the day when somebody took there dreams, and put them in front of a charging enraged bull. Their dream of spending their lives together was next to certainly finished. The day didn't haunt just Paris either. Constant fears of loosing her again since the day they reunited hadn't stopped racing through Castiel's mind. All those years he felt empty without her. With reason, their heavenly father had created the perfect pair. The two of them. They were literally twin flames, soul mates, the missing piece. Without each other there was a sense of loss and emptiness. Both Paris and Castiel would make sure that this time neither of them would be torn from the other. Having a silent heart to heart agreement when their eyes first met on the side streets, if they had to break every rule placed into existence. Then so be it. There wasn't anything that was going to come between them /ever/ again.
Dean started to talk to them both, bringing them both back to the present. Her voice still as if she was looking into another world with her wonder struck blue eyes. Castiel noticed it immediately, almost running over to her Cas hugged her tightly. "Let's get you to bed, I need to talk to the boys." he muttered against her forehead. She didn't bother arguing there was no point, and if he wasn't telling why he needed to talk to her without her there, it was probably a good reason. Without hesitation or another thought he scooped her up. "Cas, I don't want to sleep..." she was still getting them. Horrific visions of Hell. All real almost all the time. "I'll be here to keep you safe." he said as he lay her down softly onto his bed. "I promise alright?" She nodded and watched him until he left, shutting the door behind him in a fluid notion.Dean and Sam were slightly disgruntled by the fact he let her tag along without clarification. "Cas, I don't trust her." Dean said simply. After Castiel's reaction Dean definitely won't say that again. Castiel snapped, "Excuse me Dean. You take that back right now." he glared and Dean hadn't changed his position or said a word. Grabbing his shirt color gruffly he slammed him against the wall, Sam trying to pry the furious Castiel off of Dean. "TAKE IT BACK!" he shouted at Dean. It was clear that Castiel wasn't kidding earlier about messing with him about her. "You insult her, touch her, put her in danger...and I swear Dea-" Castiel was cut off by a loud shout. "ENOUGH!" Sam interrupted holding the males back from each other like a wall.
As the argument broke out Paris shut her eyes and for the first time in months fell asleep, dreaming of nothing. To her this was sweet serenity. She soon blocked out the argument entirely, she had heard all the loud bits and now felt unwanted and awkward. Castiel sat himself down in a chair. "Now Cas, what are we going to do?" Sam asked. Castiel gave a strange look, "What do you mean? She comes with us. She is just as useful as I am." he told them. Dean carefully choosing his words Dean told him, "Love can make you do stupid things. Let's focus on our reason for coming here." Focus. Castiel repeated the word with a silent chuckle. He couldn't focus not after today, but he did his best. "Yeah, exactly." Sam agreed with his brother. Castiel nodded softly, "So what have you boys gathered?" Dean looked to his brother for an answer. Sam took out a well worn knapsack and pulled a file from it. "This." he said handing it to him. "Oh my God." Castiel said as his eyes widened, he had seen this type of killing before. And he didn't mean that ritual, he meant that exact same way of death. His face paled and the boys exchanged a confused look. "That's the same ghoul that killed her parents." he said looking up from the file. How he hated that demonic bastard for hurting her, her parents both dead because of that. He searched for the correct word. That monster. "It could just be any ghoul Cas..." Sam reasoned trying to bring colour back into his ghostly white face. Castiel shook his head. "No. It's the same one." What the hell was he supposed to do? Bring her on a hunting trip that could cause her to get hurt due to emotional pain? Or hide it from her. He was torn. He couldn't loose her, couldn't see her suffer. But he didn't want to lie. Cas ran his fingers through his hair deep in thought. What could he do? His head snapped up as an idea sprang to mind.
