My eyes peeled open as the morning light spilled into the living room. I checked around and saw I was in the exact same place. Didn't move one bit. I saw my phone and checked the time.

8:34.

Well, I was already late for school. I got up and took a shower, dried my hair so it could be straightened, out on blue jeans, grey tank top, and a leather jacket. I did a nice smokey eye to top it all off to bring out my blue eyes. I put on my combat boots and scurried out the door with my backpack.

The traffic on the way to school was heavy as hell. It was all going towards the highway. All I could think about was that video, saying to evacuate the area and seek shelter. When I finally got to school, I ran into the front office. The lady looked at me from the paperwork she was filling out.

"I see you're late."

I smiled and nodded. "Yes, last night was torture. Homework, chores-"

"Excuses excuses, that's all I hear from you teenagers."

We just stood there and stared at each other for a good five seconds.

"Well, here's your tardy pass. Make sure to tell those lies to your-"

She paused.

"What class do you have Ms. Williams?"

"AP Anatomy. And yes, I'll be sure to tell Mrs. Anthony that."

I smiled and waved goodbye to the demon front office lady. Her attitude just upsets me. As I was about to reach Mrs. Anthony's classroom, someone turned me to face them. I saw Green Eyes.

I gasped. "Green Eyes! Hey!"

"Saw you weren't in music theory, what happened? Are you okay? Did anyone try to hurt you?"

I giggled. "I'm fine, don't worry about me. I just got caught up in-"

"Watching the news?"

I looked around. "Are you stalking me?"

"No! No no no I don't stalk. That's weird."

"Well how did you know I was watching the news all night?"

He shrugged. "Lucky guess, I guess."

I grabbed his shoulder lightly. I didn't realize how tall he was until now. I was already 5 foot 11 inches. He's gotta be at least 6 foot 2.

I snapped back to reality. "Well Green Eyes, I've gotta get to anatomy before crazy office lady finds me outside of class. Catch ya later?" He nodded and we parted ways.

Good thing it was the beginning of Anatomy because I had to dissect a frog for a test grade. In the middle of examining the muscle tissue of a frog, our principal came onto the intercom.

"Students, we are having an emergency lockdown, this is not a drill. Lock the doors, stay quiet, and do not do anything. Remain calm."

He got off the intercom and Mrs. Anthony looked at us.

"Okay students, throw your gloves away and got back to your desks very quietly please."

Once we got back to our desks, she turned out the lights and put her finger up to her lips to tell us to be quiet. These drills always give me anxiety. Now since it's an emergency, I'm almost drowning in the anxiety.

Hours. It was hours later. I'm still in the classroom, with my earbuds in, checking the time periodically. It was almost 1:00 in the afternoon. I was ready to get out of here.
