I slammed my bedroom door. “Honey,” said my mum from the other side of it.
“Go away!” I shouted at her.
“What is wrong?” she asked me kindly. If only she knew. If only she knew how that one word she had said hurt me. How could she have been so heartless to admit that she is slightly disappointed in me?
“You know what is wrong!” I snapped back at her.
“I’m sorry alright, I’m sorry. I didn’t know it would make you so upset,” she whispered through the door.
“Well it did. Just leave me for a bit please,” I begged her. I heard her soft footsteps on the landing before I heard silence. I took a deep breath in before I went over to my bed and sat down on it. My mobile sat on the side. I still hadn’t phone Kyle. It’s only been a day but still. I’m going to phone him.
I might even phone him now. I need something to get me out of this rotten mood and since I still haven’t got my Playstation three Kyle could maybe cheer me up a bit, if that is even possible,. I took up my phone and played with it in my hand before I searched through my contact list before I found Kyle’s number.
I stared at it. Should I phone him? Should I just leave it? I mean he is making a mistake. It’s not like I need him. Seriously I really don’t but maybe just this once I’ll phone him. It gets him off my back then as well which would be a good thing.
I finally plucked up the courage and pressed the button and it began to ring. I stuck it to my ear and waited to hear Kyle’s voice. It rang, rang and rang. My heart began to pump too fast for its own good. I went to hang up.
That was when his voice echoed in my ear like a rush of fresh air going into your lungs. “Josh.”
“Hey Kyle,” was all I managed to say.
“Decided to call then,” said Kyle and I couldn’t help but image him smirking over the phone.
“I wasn’t going to,” I said to him.
“Of course not but I knew you would in the end,” he laughed.
“How did you know that?” I asked him quite abruptly.
“Now that would be giving it away wouldn’t it? So what did make you call me?” he asked me.
“I sort of had a crap day and my mum made it worse. I got no Playstation three and that is normally which gets me out of such a rotten mood,” I said to him telling him the truth.
“And you thought I would get you out of this mood?” he asked me.
“Yeah...maybe,” I whispered through the phone like an idiot.
“Speak up I don’t got big ears you know,” giggled Kyle through the phone.
“I said yeah maybe so what are you up to?” I asked the first thing coming to my head.
“I’m actually home doing some...,” he made a slight pause.
“You’re out aren’t you?” I asked him.
“No of course not but my mum’s sleeping and well I said to her I would make dinner but...I just remembered I forgot,” he laughed.
“How can you forget that?” I asked him with a slight grin.
“You would be surprised. When are you grounded till?” asked Kyle.
“A week I think.”
“I was gonna ask if you wanted to meet up but I guess we can’t,” said Kyle, he sounded really disappointed. He really does like me doesn’t he? Or at least cares. I sighed.
